They probably don't know who Dave is (although a few might because he did a song with Drake), but I've been astounded at Sprinter's success internationally. Songs by UK rappers used to be notorious for doing almost nothing outside of the UK and Ireland, like how does it happen that this one randomly gets #5 in Canada?

Yeah you are correct but I still don't see the relevance lol. This is a UK charts forum. And fwiw he's definitely far more successful internationally than the vast majority of UK rappers.

Tinie Tempah springs to mind as a UK rapper who managed to have (short-lived) success in America.

Probably down to Central Cee’s involvement, he’s had several big international hits already. Whereas other than some low peaks internationally for ‘Starlight’, this is Dave’s first.

 

And I imagine most of Central Cee’s international success is down to his TikTok vitality.

To be clear, that's a new peak only within the time-frame of charts.spotify, which only goes back to the start of 2017. It got to #7 in 2014 on the weekly Spotify chart, possibly higher on the daily one as well.

I hope not. Mr Brightside has been in the top 50 for a long time and I don’t see that getting a reset

Olivia is up to #1 on Hot Hits, depending on how big the gap is, that could help close it or I think she could get to #1 next week even if she continues to hold up well.

I think it's more likely Olivia will enter at #2 this week, then climb to #1 next week (providing her streaming holds up, but I can't see why it wouldn't, it seems to have connected pretty well with the public).
