July 24, 20231 yr Biggest win margin so far with Germany beating Morocco 6-0 - I guess the women have a bit further to go to be on par with their men's side!
July 25, 20231 yr Author Colombia got their 2023 Fifa Women's World Cup off to the perfect start with victory over South Korea in Sydney. Catalina Usme put the South Americans ahead from the penalty spot, before teenager Linda Caicedo, 18, doubled the lead thanks to an error from Korean keeper Yoon Young-geul. That was enough to give Colombia their second ever win at the tournament. For South Korea, history was made as Casey Phair became the youngest-ever player at a Women's World Cup. The forward, aged just 16 years and 26 days, was introduced as a 77th-minute substitute.
July 25, 20231 yr Caicedo also being a cancer survivor, diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 15.
July 25, 20231 yr Ah didn't know that about Caicedo, makes the goal even more of a moment! A good with for Colombia although South Korea definitely had some good chances.
July 31, 20231 yr Two shock wins in Group H yesterday - fantastic to see Colombia get that win against Germany - their first goal was stunning and their final corner to get the second goal was well taken as well! And Morocco getting their first World Cup win was great to see as well.
August 3, 20231 yr Germany are out of the World Cup. Shock result with Morocco going through and Brazil out, looks like England might have a chance of lifting it.
August 3, 20231 yr Also, looks like England gets the "easiest" route to the semifinals, Nigeria, then either Jamaica or Colombia. Certainly, they'd pick that path over many others.
August 3, 20231 yr Morocco making it through ahead of the team that beat them 6-0 is absolutely bananas, but I'm absolutely here for it!
