Posted July 27, 20231 yr It looks like it may be a tight chart race for the no. 1 album next week! Share your thoughts! Anne-Marie - UNHEALTHY Anne-Marie releases her 3rd studio album and first in just over two years on Friday. The singles from the record have been successful, with 2/5 of them charting in the top 40. However her last record had a much more successful top 40 singles rate, that being 4/4. Her last record opened with over 18K sales with nearly 70% of sales made up from physical formats. She has a lot of variants this time around, with 3 different cds available to purchase. Post Malone - Austin Post Malone is also releasing a new album this Friday titled Austin (His real first name). It is his 5th studio album and follows last June's 'Twelve Carat Toothache' which opened with just over 11K sales. The difference this time is that 'Austin' will also be released on various physical formats on its release date including 3 different coloured vinyls. Posty has also scored a much bigger hit off of this album than any song off of his last, 'Chemical' became his highest charting single since 'Circles' a few months back. Travis Scott - Utopia Post Malone collaborator Travis Scott will release his highly anticipated 4th studio album Utopia in a few days which will mark his first album in 5 years. It is quite hard to predict how the album will perform as no singles from the album have been released yet. There is no physicals currently in the UK but they can be imported from the US. His infamous last record 'Astroworld' was met with commercial success in the UK gaining Travis 3 top 40 singles on the release week and scoring over 18.5K sales in its first week as an album. Since then a horrific, tragic crush occured at Scott's 2021 edition of his Astroworld festival. 10 people sadly lost their lives. Other Releases Dexys will release their first album since 2016, we also have a new EP from Aphex Twin and Georgia will release her 3rd album 'Euphoric'. Edited July 27, 20231 yr by Y'all Starlight
July 27, 20231 yr Rooting for Anne-Marie but I also think it's hers to lose - loads of bundles on her store, personally signed copies, 8 signings and 9 intimate shows will all help boost her physical sales
July 27, 20231 yr Probably Anne-Marie, so already bracing for 'PSYCHO' to have to be played at the #2s session <_< I would have said Travis might be in contention but not sure the hype is really there. Maybe if it turns out to be a really good album. x I think him and Post Malone should both be top 5 though, unless Travis' album is something super leftfield and divisive like Lil Uzi Vert's latest. I don't think the Aphex Twin release will be eligible for the album chart, it's only 4 songs isn't it?
July 27, 20231 yr Georgia will release her debut album 'Euphoric'. Debut album?? Impressive trajectory for Anne-Marie's albums to go 3-2-1 if she does it, which I'm fairly sure she can.
July 27, 20231 yr Anne-Marie’s to lose, as others have said. Hard to predict first week sales though.
July 27, 20231 yr I’d love to see Post Malone get it with AUSTIN. Really looking forward to hearing that in full as he’s a very strong albums artist for me but I think Anne-Marie’s physical sales mixed with decent streams will win it for her this time around. I also imagine Anne-Marie will have some good promo lined up mixed with signings and the formats etc so she should manage that first #1 album. Edited July 29, 20231 yr by Jord
July 27, 20231 yr Anne-Marie's team are pushing HARD - they've added another 4 signings (12 in total now) and I got an email inviting me to buy a CD for £2 as I attended the launch show last night :o
July 27, 20231 yr Author At this stage I see Anne-Marie hitting the top spot but It kind of depends on what direction and who features on Travis' album. Drake will most certainly be on it and maybe SZA too so if those collaborations do come to fruition then there is certainly some kind of threat.
July 27, 20231 yr I'd say Anne-Marie is most likely due to physicals. Can't see Posty or Travis doing enough on streaming to overcome.
July 29, 20231 yr Author Anne-Marie should watch it! Travis has done some huge numbers on Spotify today. All 19 tracks from Utopia are in the UK Spotify top 40 Edited July 29, 20231 yr by Y'all Starlight
July 31, 20231 yr Author The first update in in where Anne-Marie is leading by ONE sale. Looks like Travis may snatch it by the end of the week
July 31, 20231 yr Anne Marie will do it easily! Come on Anne Marie don’t let me down!!! :cheeseblock:
July 31, 20231 yr Probably Anne-Marie, so already bracing for 'PSYCHO' to have to be played at the #2s session <_< I would have said Travis might be in contention but not sure the hype is really there. Not me (possibly) using my bad prediction skills for good by dooming Anne-Marie to another #2 album :cheeseblock: Seems the Travis album is a little bit leftfield but has been received a lot better than Uzi's. I guess we'll be getting 'K-POP' at the #2s session instead if Travis does get the #1 but not sure if that's likely to remain the most streamed song from the album in the long run  (although its global numbers will probably hold up better than its UK numbers because Bad Bunny so maybe it will)
August 1, 20231 yr Author Before yesterday Travis was on two votes in this poll, since the update he is on eight lol.
