August 19, 20231 yr They're really speeding through these now! I don't understand why. Jump's 20th anniversary is 3 months away, whereas The Show's is 10 months away. Edited August 20, 20231 yr by Voodoo
August 19, 20231 yr Author I don’t think their team is intending to go with the anniversary dates for the singles or even their future album reissues. It would be too drawn out I think, to commit to a project like this for 6 years and to have such long gaps. I feel that their team went with the 20th anniversary gimmick for Sound of the Underground (song and album) more as a means to mark 20 years of Girls Aloud, and to get attention for that… but that here on out they’re not marking 20th anniversaries of releases. My assumption for them racing through No Good Advice, Life Got Cold & Jump content over the past month is that they’re gearing up for the next album reissue soon.
August 22, 20231 yr Author Regarding the Jump video on the Girls on Film DVD which doesn't have Love Actually clips included... obviously those film clips are replaced with alternative footage of the girls, but I never realised that occasionally there's different footage of Girls Aloud replacing particular clips in the normal Love Actually version, or used in a different part of the video. That was hard to explain so just watch this video and you'll see what I mean. First example is 39 seconds into this video, and again 48 seconds in. There's other moments too! HFcTo-vIN6Q
August 24, 20231 yr EP out at midnight! https://music.apple.com/nz/album/jump-ep/1701128401 1 Jump 2 Girls Allowed 3 Grease 4 Love Bomb 5 Girls Allowed (Almighty Radio Edit) 6 Jump (Almighty Vocal Mix) 7 Jump (Flip & Fill Remix) 8 Girls Allowed (Almighty Vocal Mix) 9 Jump (Almighty Dub Mix)
August 24, 20231 yr Author No Grease - Beatmasters Remix, unfortunately  This was perhaps the last opportunity for it to be included in an official Girls Aloud release! But the team has overlooked it (and for some reason tagged normal Grease on the SOTU Deluxe as being the remix, when it isn't). There's also a Karaoke version they could have included, but haven't! Oh and it's still just a scan being used, unfortunately, although as a small image it doesn't appear to look too bad. It's only when you expand it that you can see it's not HQ: https://is1-ssl.mzstatic.com/image/thumb/Mu...000x3000bb.webp
September 14, 20231 yr This was a great song!! They really modernised a classic. Spice Girls could learn feom how GA mark anniversaries too..
September 14, 20231 yr LOVE the alternative video! It makes it even more fun and playful than the original which was already probably the most fun video they've done. This was a great song!! They really modernised a classic. Agreed! I was first aware of Girls Aloud's version anyway but I'd say they really made this song their own when I listen back to the original. The production is very much the punchy sound that the girls had going around that time and Nadine just steals the show.
September 14, 20231 yr I love their version of jump and agree they have made it own by having that punchy production on it.
