Synthpop legends OMD are back with theit first studio album in 6 years after The Punishment Of Luxury (which was amazing). The title track was released yesterday and the album itself is out at the end of October.

 

A fabulous track from one of my favourite bands. I'm sure the album will be just as brilliant. It's over 40 years since I first saw them live. Eek!

I love them too - think I saw them only the once in 2018 or so. Just amazing guys with a very varied body of work..need to check this new album out.

Well there seems to be very little talk of this album on here! After reading the mostly stellar online reviews, I've just given it a listen and I can see what the fuss is about. It's a great pop album, somehow managing to sound both current and classic OMD! There's a run of 4 or 5 songs in the middle which are amazing! Along with the title track, highlights for me are 'Where We Started', 'Slow Train' and 'Don't Go'.

 

Very impressive for them to be maintaining this kind of quality so far into their career and it will be a shame if this does end up being their final album, as they've hinted.

Not necessarily, someone else may have released on that day if Taylor didn't.

Im really loving slow train, shame the album didnt get them the log awaited number 1.
