Posted August 26, 20231 yr ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog is relaunching her solo career after success of ABBA "Voyage". After the tremendous success of ABBA "Voyage", ABBA star Agnetha Fältskog is tipped to relaunch her solo career at the age of 73. The Sun has revealed that the 'Mamma Mia' singer has recently signed a record deal with BMG. They are the label that has reinvigorated Aussie pop legend Kylie Minogue back to the top of the charts in recent months. BMG are hoping they can have the same effect with Agnetha, after the tremendous critical and commercial success of ABBA "Voyage". Agnetha is reportedly planning to release a brand new album later this year, which will mark her first original solo material for a decade. An insider revealed: "Agnetha loved being back in the studio with ABBA and it inspired her to relaunch her solo career." "She has been in regular contact for months with the team at BMG in London and they have helped develop her new sound." "After a long time working on new music, there is finally a body of work which she loves and which is ready for release." The 'Dancing Queen' recently launched her own official Instagram account, where she posted an image featuring the phrase: "Where do we go from here?" Something is surely in the works, and we could see Agnetha returning to the UK charts for the first time since 2013 when her last album, "A", reached No.6 in the album charts.
August 26, 20231 yr Her 2013 album was decent. Be intrigued to hear this, I hope she was spurred on by the commercial success of Don’t Shut Me Down and uses it as the template!
August 26, 20231 yr I kinda feel a bit conflicted by this because there will no doubt be flashes of promo but apart from opening night, has kept well away from Voyage. I know she’s entitled to do what she wants but it seems she’s a bit like Vicky B who is happy to use her band’s name for promotion of her own stuff when needed, but will do the absolute minimum for the group!
August 26, 20231 yr Don't think I ever listened to the full album but I loved 'Dance Your Pain Away'! JBboaz9Jgqo
August 28, 20231 yr I’m always up for new Agnetha music, even if the decline in her voice from 2013 to 2017-2020 when Voyage was recorded was significant. From what I’ve seen (and the social media promo) a musical theatre/covers album seems reasonably likely? (“Where do we go from here” being the opening line from You Must Love Me) and would probably be a decent seller over Christmas, insofar as albums still sell. As long as G**y B****w isn’t within a thousand nautical miles, I’ll be happy.
August 29, 20231 yr From Amazon, seems this might just be a re-release of A with a previously unrealised track tacked on. Truly the queen of doing literally the least amount possible *.* On the 10th anniversary of her solo album ‘A’, Agnetha Fältskog releases ‘A+’, a completely reimagined version of ‘A’. This 2CD deluxe version of the album features 11 reworked tracks, including the lead single ‘Where Do We Go From Here?’ - the first new material from Agnetha in 10 years - plus all 10 original recordings from the album ‘A’. Agnetha has been working with renowned, Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Jorgen Elofsson (who has written hits for Britney Spears, Kelly Clarkson and many more).
August 30, 20231 yr Author LOL, bless her. It's not like A was some seminal work that needed a re-release. Very odd to "re-record" the tracks too - it's not like they had a muffled sound quality or something and needed to be refreshed.
August 30, 20231 yr Very odd to "re-record" the tracks too I doubt she re-recorded the tracks. They were probably just re-produced.
August 31, 20231 yr I quite like it, it's not as good as best tracks on A, but it's light and BREEZY and I feel will grow with further listens. It's definitely not a leftover from 2013 though, so hopefully that she's been back in the the studio gives me a little more hope that the rest of the album is going to be more than just tinkering round the edges with some new production.
August 31, 20231 yr Author I just hope this is the start of more music and re-releasing A is more of a stop gap in that. And yeah, you can hear on her voice this is a new recording.
August 31, 20231 yr The album is available on White Vinyl, Double Vinyl, CD, Double CD and Picture Disc. https://agnethafaltskog.tmstor.es/
