We are pleased to announce that the album 'Whatever People Say I am, That's What I am Not' has gone gold in Japan, New Zealand, Australia, Denmark and the Middle East. In the UK, the album has gone triple platinum.

The band was also voted Best New International Act at Croatia's 'Zlatn Koogla' awards ceremony.

Many thanks to all you fantastic people. Respect.

Remember albums get awards (Gold, Platinum etc.) on copies ordered ;)

It should hit a million copies by June.........and its quite surprising to see the band do good in other countries as I didn't think they'd it off much outside of Britan.
I thought it would have hit a million by now

Me too.No way will it do anywhere near 2 million as some people were suggesting.

Well in the time it's been out it's a great achievement to sell as much as it has :D Plus it's still selling consistantly ;) Coldplay slowed down A LOT and still made it and are still selling more! :cheer:
The album probably won't hit 2 million but it willl be close to it I'm also thinking come festival season there will be a surge of the album rising up the charts again.

Well we never know ;) Even it doesn't sell anything for the rest of the year it'll still be one of the best sellers
Sales have'nt gone to what i expected at all. Sure they are great but they need alot more singles if they want to come close to 2 million.
I agree Bono. I'm suprised the record company have'nt forsed them to release more singles cause they won't sell 2 million if it's true about them not releasing anymore singles form the album.

Well if they were on a MAJOR label that would probably have been the case ;) But they have more freedom being on Domino so they're doing it the way they want to and are more concerned with their music than sales. ;)
