I feel like Kylie has always had to fight for her place and has overcome so much in her personal life and her music career Do you think with the success of songs Padam and Tension and the soon to be new number 1 album, do we think 2023 is the year Kylie gets her flowers? I feel like Kylie never really gets the recognition she deserves for what she has achieved and I feel she sometimes gets put to one side hun. I cant explain the way I feel hun. I feel with this era though, it is changing and people are actually standing up and taking notice of Kylie again. So I think she should get her flowers now. It is time hun, dont you think? From a public sentiment point of view, I don't think it's made a big difference as the fan base for a 55yo will get smaller and smaller as she and us grow older and older. I don't see too many new kids jumping on the Kylie bandwagon (they may on a song, like jumping on the PP bandwagon) 2. From a critics point of view, she's GOTTEN HER FLOWERS! I'm seeing so many publications and critics who wouldn't give her a look earlier, but are now eating humble pie and admiring her longevity and skills to reinvent and stay relevant. Plus, helps that she's so professional, never a bad word to say on anyone and keeps public responses and images "safe", that she does't have a bad rep in the industry. 3. From a chart or sales perspective - she earned her flowers years, rather decades ago. Her bouquet will never be as big as Madonna's or Taylor's, but she'll have a consistent fan base who will buy and listen and enjoy her albums and concerts.

The probability of it happening is very low given her age and the way the record industry has changed. If you look at the streaming figures for Padam which peaked at no8, she would still have required a substantially higher number of streams to have reached number 1. To even achieve another T10 single is likely to be a challenge.

September 20, 20231 yr While a number 1 single is very unlikely i would say never say never, look at Elton John getting 2 different number 1 singles in recent times, 3 if you count the one with Ladbaby which i dont think many would have predicted so sometimes you just never know. For a long time Kylie getting a top 10 again seemed impossible but along came padam padam and defied the odds.
September 21, 20231 yr ^ Elton used Dua Lipa & Ed Sheeran to get those number ones. He wouldn't have been able to do it without the involvement of young & popular artists. As for Kylie, she is NOT underrated by any means.
