Originally released in 2001, 'Best of The Corrs' is the double platinum hits collection covering the incredible Corrs first 3 hugely successful studio albums 'Forgiven, Not Forgotten' (1995), 'Talk on Corners' (1998) and 'In Blue' (2000). This expanded reissue features 21 tracks including the hits 'Breathless', 'Runaway', 'What Can I Do', 'Radio', 'Dreams' and more.

One of three new tracks on the album is a cover of Fleetwood Mac's 1988 hit "Little Lies" in tribute to Christine McVie who passed away last year, and is out today as a single:

Very bizarre release, but I'm excited to get The Best Of on vinyl, although these three extra Fleetwood Mac covers on the end recorded more than 20 years after everything else will very much sound tacked on.

They've had four other studio albums since this Best Of was released  Would love a comprehensive collection at some point.

The Little Lies cover is quite nice, and it's nice to see them recording together again, I can't believe Jupiter Calling was six years ago now.

This has been produced by Guy Chambers. Maybe they've also done some writing together?

Nice cover and addition.

They are touring Australia and I think New Zealand and Asia soon. So it could be partly to do with that.

Also would’ve liked Lifting Me added, just so we have it on streaming.

I agree, it seems a bit baffling that they're repacking this without updating it to include any singles from the five albums that have been since this greatest hits. My only guess is that because White Light and Jupiter Calling were both on EastWest rather than Atlantic Records (although both are under the Warner bracket, are they not?) that might explain why they're noticeable by their absence.

Hopefully we get a comprehensive collection at some point (and the other albums on vinyl. Talk On Corners was initially down to come out on coloured vinyl for National Album Day next Friday along with Forgiven Not Forgotten. Maybe it still will be soon?)

What a weird release. How about a comprehensive best of covering their whole output period?

I *think* they switched labels after album 5 in the mid 00s, so this is only label 1 (Atlantic, I believe)

I really liked the Corrs in the beginning, the first 2 albums, cos they mixed pop with Irish traditional music

but from album 3 on, they went pure pop and abandoned their irish roots and they kinda lost me as a fan then

Isn’t Borrowed Heaven with their original label though? And maybe Home?

I would’ve liked those singles added at least.

In Blue was their only totally pop album though so it was hardly ‘from album 3 on’. Borrowed Heaven was quite poppy but there was plenty of the Irish sound. Home was most definitely not a pure pop album.

I thought Borrowed Heaven was even more pure pop than In Blue

and the nail in the coffin for me as a fan, I remember those awful singles, Summer Sunshine and Angel

almost sounded like S Club Juniors :/

Quite a few of the Talk On Corners singles were pop too though, especially the single mixes by Tin Tin Out and K-Klass, so you could see that they were heading in that direction.

Borrowed Heaven had the title track, Silver Strand, Time Enough for Tears and Long Night that I wouldn't really put in the pop category, but it was a poppier album on the whole looking back than it felt at the time, purely because it came after In Blue which felt very glossy. Give It All Up could almost have been a Vengaboys track, for example. I can see why they lost some fans with that album - I liked it but it is definitely the album I return to the least (apart from Home and Jupiter Calling). The poppier sheen given to Radio and At Your Side from Unplugged never really appealed to me.

But yes, Home was the complete opposite of pop, and very much back to their roots. And Jupiter Calling was nice in parts and a dirge in others, but also not pop. White Light was brilliant.

I thought Borrowed Heaven blended the pop and Irish stuff quite well-it’s in my top 3 of theirs with Talk On Corners and White Light which do pretty similar.

Jupiter Calling was dull, but I don’t put nails in coffins for artists I like. I’ll listen to the output before expressing an opinion based on one or two albums and applying it to every album thereafter without even giving it a go. But that’s just me.

White Light and Talk on Corners are my fave 2 albums, but i enjoy something from all their albums apart from Jupiter Calling, nothing really clicked with me on that album.

I only really liked SOS from Jupiter Calling.

I really need to check Home

Borrowed Heaven put me off them so much I never ever checked anything else from them anymore

Home is mostly covers of traditional Irish songs, so the complete opposite of In Blue. I loved Peggy Gordon and Sharon's vocal on Dimming Of The Day, plus the instrumental Haste To The Wedding - although that was already an established staple at their live shows. I've always loved their instrumentals - Erin Shore, Carraroe Jig/Joy Of Life, and - probably my favourite - Toss The Feathers.

On Jupiter Calling I did like SOS, Road To Eden and Son of Solomon but I basically never go back to the rest of the album.
