October 11, 20232 yr It's interesting how the perception has changed because I used to think of Drake as an artist who did incredibly well with pure sales. Obviously the tides have changed but his first four albums did about half a million each on first week pure sales in the US. "Nothing Was The Same" got #2 but would've been #1 with its UK sales on most weeks of 2013 (~60K vs. Kings of Leon's ~70K).

October 12, 20232 yr Don't twist the story, there were no physicals on release date, maybe some CDs later that no one bought I didn't 'twist the story', you never mentioned that you were talking about 'on release date' physicals so I just told the truth x I wouldn't call these numbers 'very poor' either considering that this album should be on course to have the biggest opening week sales for a digital only album in 2023. Sure, Its a decline for Drake but these are still big numbers that he is shifting.

October 12, 20232 yr Seems there is a lot of unusual/quirky indieish music making the top 40 at the moment- Jungle, Noah Kahan, Suicidal Idol, Lovejoy, Mitzki etc... Have to go right back to the Physical singles era to get anything close to this number. Know likes of Billie and Lana have done well but to get so much at once is amazing.
