Episode is Season 32, Episode 41.

I ended up watching this, thanks for posting it! Makes me wonder if she was open about any of this in the BB house, if it was ever mentioned on the feeds, etc.

This was done last year when they brought the Pressure Cooker comp back. Amazing reunion! Good updates from a few houseguests for one of the BEST seasons ever.

I’ve also been reading tidbits of the Big Brother bible. Some unfortunate updates as well, Roddy was in a pretty serious hockey accident that left him disabled.

A few years ago I went through a phase of watching some of the older US series... I did like 6,10-14 (I think). Then started 15 and aborted as 90% of the HMs were horrific :o

With 26 starting I thought i'd go back and watch some more older series' - so started Series 23 this eve...

Frenchie is such a messy HOH - promising everything to everyone and then constantly backtracking as everyone starts talking to each other/ swapping info. He started with good intentions, but he's exhausting to watch - its a good start though!

BB15 was my first season! Extremely problematic in a variety of ways and it was handled so badly. I didn't not enjoy the season as a whole away from those elements though - Elissa, Helen, Candice, etc were great to root for albeit out too early.

15 to 22 is a bit of a bumpy ride on the whole. Obviously I enjoyed it all to some extent but I think 15 shone a particular light on how the likes of racists are handled in the show (and I don't think this was really improved on until season 25...), and 16 particularly ushered in the newer era of Big Brother, where gameplay is often safer. Among this period I really liked season 20. 21 and 22 felt like particular low points on the other hand.

23 was the start of things improving though, and it's surely no coincidence that this was when CBS' policy of reality shows having a cast made up of at least 50% minority ethnicities came into effect. It's not been without issues since then but 23-25 were definitely big steps in the right direction, and 26 is off to a flying start so far!

I recently wrapped up my first BB15 Rewatch. I was so hesitant because it doesn't have a good reputation and rewatching it again was challenging.

It for me is a completely skipable season still. Terrible winner, there was some great gameplay and good players but completely tarnished by Aaryn.

I would agree the 15-22 Era can be challenging. It's almost like the eras are:

Season 1-7: Old School

Season 8-14: Golden Era (except Season 9)

Season 15-21: Problematic Era

Season 22-Current: Fan Era

Honestly CBS did a lot of learning between Season 15-21. I always call it the Problematic Era. Season 15 speaks for itself.

Season 16 is a must watch season for sure. The season doesn't come without its own challenges (Caleb).

Season 17 had Audrey who I think they really mishandled.

Season 18 had Paulie and Frank.

Season 19 they were all terrible humans, CBS should have never given a platform to Cody (and lesser so, Jessica) I hate that she's seen as someone who should return. Dump your backwards husband and we will talk.

Season 21 should never be mentioned ever again and will be a season I will never re-watch.

Honestly we needed Seasons 15-21 to happen for CBS to commit to diversity casting and we're finally in the era where they are casting REAL fans of the show.

Seasons 9, 15 and 21 are by far the worst BB Seasons. However, honestly. Season 9 can be an interesting rewatch at times

I just finished a rewatch for Big Brother Australia Season 9. This was the first season of the “Reboot” after being cancelled by Channel 10.

The launch was a complete disaster, fake crowd sounds - but they fixed that by the next live show. They also kept the Big Brother house at Dreamworld, but I felt they never really leaned into this like Channel 10 did.

This was the first time I’ve rewatched the season since it aired. Honestly there were a handful of Housemates I forgot about. Charne, Sarah, Ava but the one that stood out to me was Angie. I had no memory of her at all, and that was a surprise because she was a central figure in that house and lasted 70 days.

I think with Angie, she had no storyline for herself whatsoever. She was loud, very out there.. but, never actually had a storyline and just jumped on what everyone else was doing.

Sarah for me likely one of the worst BBAU Housemates of all times. George was insanely boring but THANK GOD for the Vote to Save because he was TOAST his first eviction.

There were two that stood out to me as completely useless housemates. They were Stacey and Zoe. Stacey for me really looked like she was going to be a central figure in the house, but you come to find out she has zero personality at all and her jokes really were not all that funny. Everyone in the house just seemed to think Stacey’s popularity on the outside was insane, but in reality she never actually made the daily show for WEEKS. First time nominated. Toast.

Zoe however was a completely different story. While Stacey would pop up randomly from time to time, Zoe did not exist in the Daily Episodes until probably the 2nd last week in the house. The only two things she brought to the house for the first two months was her creepy crush on Michael and her self-esteem issues. I was convinced that Production hated both Zoe and Stacey and edited them out on purpose. Zoe started becoming more of a central figure in the house the last two weeks. Mostly centred around Michael finding out he had feelings for Estelle.

Michael I thought had a good runway to the Final but botched it those last few weeks with his fake relationship with Estelle. I think he could have come 3rd at least had he not gone down that dreadful storyline.

Josh was likely the obvious winner this season, but I Was surprised how late in the season he departed after the death of his Brother. He left on Day 60 of 87 and probably would have won had his brother not passed. Still such a sad thing to go through.

Estelle um. I did not like Estelle. The house hated her which meant the public LOVED her. Especially the young viewers. She just seemed like such an enigma in there.

Layla alright I didn’t much care for Layla either  she just came across as extremely lazy and showmance driven. I hate rewarding housemates stupidity and she doesn’t have the same charm as say, someone like Jade (BBUK). There was a point mid-season where she just completely went off Benjamin and didn’t speak with him for two weeks and it just was quite annoying to watch. I’m glad she didn’t win and I thought 2nd was a bit of a stretch for Layla.

Benjamin the rightful winner of the season! I see so much of myself in Benjamin. Direct, funny, outgoing. Great at giving advice, great at listening and wasn’t ever afraid to put his two cents in. Mid-Season a few of the Housemates started going off him a bit (Sam, Layla, Estelle) basically for talking behind peoples back ect.

The beginning of the season was great. Good boot order, the only one I wish would have stayed a bit longer was Ray and Bradley should have gone a lot earlier.

The house started becoming a bit more toxic after Josh left, he was definitely the glue that held the house together. I don’t think I’ve seen that much tension in the house in the final weeks on BBAU. They honestly got so annoyed with each other.

The end of the season was a bit of a drag, they really should have put a double eviction in there someone. The Vote to Win started on Day 77 of the 87 day series. They really should have had one more round of Nominations.

Again - great winner. Okay series, but worth the rewatch.

Ranking:

01: Benjamin

02: Ray

03: Josh

04: Sam

05: Estelle

06: Layla

07: Michael

08: Stacey

09: Angie

10: Ryan

11: Zoe

12: George

13: Charne

14: Ava

15: Sarah

16: Bradley

Aaryn getting cancelled again in 2024 is hilarious. I don’t know how to embed TikTok videos but go check out @soogia1 on TikTok.

Soogia is a TikToker with 2.3 million followers and is known to speak up about racism. Aaryn was dead silent until this season on Social Media, don’t know why she popped up her head but clearly we aren’t allowing it.

I can't confirm, but I heard/read that she and Brooklyn know each other!

Actually that’s a great point, I only saw Aaryn’s name start popping up on Social Media when Brooklyn was announced as a houseguest.

She’s still going on, and she actually reposted on her TikTok the segment in the Jury House where she apologized to Helen and Candace.

She’s still so full of shit after all of these years.

Totally agree but shouldn’t 22 also be added? The game was fixed from the start by pre-show tactics. It felt like a vehicle to give Cody winner status, and don’t get me started on that wench Nicole. #justiceforjanelleandkaysar

I had fundamental issues with both All-Stars seasons. They both would end up in my bottom quarter, but they weren't the worst seasons ever. But they definitely were not great

I recently re-watched Season 22 again. It was just unfortunate the 'wrong side' was winning every week. Janelle, Kaysar and Da'Vonne were all very close to winning HOHs in the early part of the season, had they won something I think the season could have turned out a lot differently.

But yes, pregaming destroyed that season and the decisions they made to cut or put in the house was very questionable. Any Big Brother fan would have taken Dan over Cody any day.

I think they did the best they could with the cards they were dealt. Some of the casting was sublime, the rest was just god awful.

Replacing Christmas for the ladies and, unfortunately, most of the Men would have fixed this season. They really needed to do a better job of balancing out Old School Players, New School Players and Winners. They never really had a lens on what the Audience wanted (Janelle and Kaysar to at least make Jury) and built a cast around that... which was odd because they definitely did that for Season 7

I was watching an interview Ivette did recently and she made it quite far for Season 22 in the casting phase, but was dropped due to “problematic tweets”. I think they could have been over sensitive at the time giving the climate. I’ll never say Big Brother is “woke” casting but they were definitely cognizant of who they were putting in.

I've just started another Big Brother 3 rewatch. I've said in this topic and previous BB topics that it's one of my favourite seasons!

Is it full of masterful gameplay and strategy? No. But, for me, it's filled with nostalgia. This was the season that really got me into Big Brother. I was obsessed!

I give this a rewatch every few years, this season aired right around the time I realized that I was gay so watching someone like Marcellas play was really eye-opening for me.

Impressions of everyone going into this season:

Chiara: I was a huge Chiara fan, I really loved how open she was. She was always just that fun girl that you wanted to hang out with. She had a mean streak with Amy however and it definitely felt like, at times, she was isolating Amy and Lisa.

Amy: I was obsessed with Amy from the moment I saw her cast picture. She's one of my Top 10 Big Brother Players of all time. You rarely hear anything about Amy unfortunately.

Lisa: Stunning. Beautiful, but I don't blame her for wanting to take a step back from Big Brother after what happened on Season 7. I have hopes she will do this again one day.

Josh: Thank god he left early in the season. There's a genuinely nice guy in there, but his desire to be this villain was just ick.

Jason: again another big part of me coming out was watching Eric, Roddy and Jason all summer. I was spoiled  what a sweet guy. I mean, I'm not dying for him to play again - but if the opportunity presented itself I would be excited!

Gerry: People do NOT GIVE Gerry enough credit! Competition beast. He broke up a couple (and the right couple too). He shaped the first half of that season more than anyone else.

Roddy: If you have a chance to get caught up on Roddy I'd recommend it. He was so charismatic and desirable. What a STUD. Thank god for Danielle because he would have walked this season.

Lori: she served SO MUCH that first week and immediately went home and got lost on the way to meet Julie.

Eric: he was hot but that was about it. He went at just the right time.

Tonya: not everything you may have seen about Tonya over the last few years was true. That being said, I'm glad she went when she did and what a blindside

Danielle: I do feel bad for Danielle at times. She played the hell out of both seasons just to fall short. I'm glad she's starting to be more involved in the Big Brother community now. I'm excited to see her on the Traitors!

Marcellas: I'll be talking paragraphs about Marcellas and his impact as I rewatch this.

Part of me also misses the old house as well. It's not as slick and animated as the new house. Even the editing, I miss the old announcer and his sultry voice. I miss that old intro and the key wheel!
