It seems like massively controversial rapper Kanye West has got a new album with Ty Dolla $ign coming out soon.... Unfortunately for Kanye there have been many reports that several major labels have rejected the idea of distributing the album

As always with Kanye albums, this could just fade into the abyss (I hope so x).

Mind you Kanye has 4 entries on the Top 200 UK Spotify with legacy songs including 86 and 87 so praising Hitler isn't exactly the career ending event one would have maybe thought it was...

The current climate in the world maybe tells you why...

Unfortunately the album titled 'Vultures' looks like it'll drop tomorrow.

Hopefully Kanye pulls a 'Yhandi' at the last minute and shelves the project.

Kanye has been doing a promo tour for the album including dressing up in KKK style clothing. Disgusting

The album has been successfully delayed :cheer: And it is all down to former Ye collaborator Nicki Minaj lol

A song from the album features a 5 year old verse from Minaj that was intended for 'Yhandi' and then 'Jesus Is King' however it wasn't released. Nicki refused to clear her verse for the album which has led the record to be delayed!

So... This album has in fact was released yesterday but not on Spotify yet (meaning that the album will probs chart quite low if it doesn't get released there).

I haven't listened to the full thing yet but the songs I have heard are sounding way better than I thought they would ('Vultures' set the bar below ground level oop and is just a terrible song in general). It seems like Kanye has mentioned Taylor Swift (not in a good way) again on this album which is just really disappointing yet unexpected. 'Talking' which features Kanye's daughter North and some vocals from James Blake, was released on Thursday. It actually sounds pretty good (probably because Kanye barely says anything on the song).

Edit: It has just been uploaded to Spotify just minutes after making this post

Just finished my first listen and it's pretty solid. It's what you expect a Kanye album to be in 2024. It's a mile away from the pure genius of his earlier work and just continues the trend of messiness, dark production and the odd choir. It's probably a little but more consistent than 'Donda' but nothing really gripped me like the highlights from that. My favourite song was 'BURN' so of course they made that less than 2 minutes long.

The album does really start to lose steam in the 2nd half though. Two Playboi Carti features really wasn't necessary, 'BEG FORGIVENESS' plods on for 6 minutes and is a straight cover of a song by one of the members of Hot Chip(!) and while the sample in 'GOOD (DON'T DIE)' works surprisingly well, the track itself just doesn't go anywhere.

I didn't listen to 'VULTURES' when it came out last year after seeing the almost universally negative reception, but now I've heard it, I don't really get it. It's one of the better songs on here.

The Taylor reference isn't really anything. He says something like 'I've made 6 Taylor Swifts' which is very mild compared to anything else he's ever said.

I hadn't actually seen what he said about Taylor but agreed that isn't that bad at all in comparison to some of the very angry reactions provoked by that line on twitter (although Kanye should really get over Taylor at this point)

A brilliant album. I love Donda even though many don't, so it's not a return to form really but another solid one. It's definitely one of his more joyous albums which we haven't had in ages.

I'm obsessed with BACK TO ME  but loads of keepers and only a couple of skips!

Well 'Carnival' expected to debut at shockingly high position of no.2 in the US Billboard. Cancel culture? What cancel culture.

CARNIVAL keeps blowing up more and more. Top 10 in the UK and potentially climbing further up this week. I'm obsessed with it I can't lie. At a house party last week, we ended up playing the entire album from start to end in the background

Carnival is a bit of a bop with repeat listens tbh. Actually would rank fairly respectably compared to some of the shite in the top 40 for me personally.
