Posted October 18, 20231 yr Production of daytime medical drama Doctors is to end, the BBC has announced. After running for 23 years, the show had been affected by "super inflation in drama production", causing costs to rise significantly, the BBC said. It said it had faced a choice on whether to re-invest in the Birmingham site where the show is made or finance new shows in the West Midlands. The final episode will be aired in December 2024. Wonder what will replace the 1:45pm slot on weekdays on BBC One. Did anyone ever watch Doctors at all?

October 20, 20231 yr What was it like working on Doctors?It was intense but I'm glad I got the experience. This was spring 2021 so COVID restrictions were still in full swing, plus I'm autistic and didn't really know what my needs were.
October 20, 20231 yr I watched it for a time whilst between jobs and sometimes watched when working from home but never really watched it continuously due to the time it was on. I really expected Hollyoaks to go first though especially with it being taken off the main channel four. I wonder if another channel will pick it up as it is still going to be on air another year yet.
October 24, 20231 yr I expected Hollyoaks too!! We did a poll recently on the next soap to be axed, and Docroes and Holkyaosk won it. Hollyoaks will be next.
February 26, 20241 yr Last week of filming this week with Friday being the last day. Sad for the cast and crew losing their jobs and for the many fans of the show. They have enough episodes in the can leading up to Christmas.

June 1, 20241 yr New Doctor (and new Partner) joins this week just before the show goes on it's annual break and return in September and continues up to December when it will sadly finished. Such a shame the BBC made that decision. I see the actress who played Ruhma Carter (Bharti Patel) has now turned up in EastEnders. https://uk.news.yahoo.com/doctors-spoilers-...-230442399.html
