Litihum

I must use daddy's credit card to download now :smoke:

I knew CC would go back into the top 10 :o

It's always the same really until about March time there is rarely anything solid out in large numbers so we get all the old hits and awful sales - will be interesting to see how this year starts off sales wise compared to the dire 2005 start and the average 2006.

Does anyone know how's Beautiful World doing at the moment? Could it be number one for the 6th week?

Beautiful World is on 11.5k yesterday, bearing in mind Bank Holiday Monday, 11.5 is incredibly low to what it was a fortnite ago, Snow Patrol are only 2k behind and Razorlight only 600 copies behind SP, bit tight at the top this week, really close, but sales are dramactically low compared to recent weeks

Singles sales were quite normal though! Aren't they?

Cool for the new rule- should have been done long ago.

Absolutley stupid, the Gay Gordon song is 20 years old!!!.

The UK charts will be the laughing stock of the chart universe, all very well and good representing everything that's selling, but "Monster" is old, old overplayed fodder, while "Chasing Cars" in typical Arrow FM playlist material.

They look pretty normal, I don't think Leona will sell the same amount as last week though, I say at least 50k maybe less by the end of the week.

Eric Prydz might just nip TT

I like this new rule anyway.

I always said the likes of CC, Crazy and Maneater were falsely deleted -_-

However I do think including album tracks and songs older than say 100 weeks or so is very very stupid and will just **** up the charts.

ATM it seems slow as most people won't have realised yet like at the start of the new rules last year there was 1 song per week in the top 40 charting early on downloads on then we got about 4 or 5 after so long - but I predict by March the UK charts will be a complete and utter mess :cheer:

Do you know album positions?

If so can you tell me how many places GA - Greatest Hits has climbed?

Thanks :D

im very happy about the snow patrol news i hope set the fire to the third bar gains sales also,i wonder can chasing cars even go top 5 now or even further?

GREAt to see take that looking like 6th week at number 1 in albums and snow patrol 2 and likewise good to see girls aloud lookoing like going back into the top 10

im loving th enew chart rules

There's not much to see at the moment, Top 20 hardly had any effect apart from SP, the ones lower down the chart will show some difference later on, once sales pick up, top 40 won't look much different from last year.

The newer physical singles will always make the top 40 grade, the change will hardly affect the chart, so you hardly see it in the top 40.

Just out of idle curiosity, if these new rules had come in a week earlier, where abouts would, Crazy, Monster, Gay Gordon etc. have appeared in this weeks chart? Does anyone know?

Going to be good going forward.

Not really, they could have been anywhere in the top 75, but Snow Patrol could have been Top 10 still

I agree. I'm sure in America they have a 52 weeks rule for singles, whereby old songs cannot reappear if they have dropped out of their charts. Likewise their albums have a similar 104 weeks rule.

I agree, that the charts will become unpredictable, which will in turn make playing (my) Chart Single Prediction Game more interesting - which is great news. :cheer:

It will be interesting to see what new scams record companies & acts come up with to chart highly. But no doubt McFly will exploit it first, as they have done in the past.

is there any chance of anyone overtaking Leona in the singles chart?

There's not many big releases in the next few weeks, usually January is a bad month for new releases, hopefully Mika might chart early at #1, so far Mika seems to be only competition.
