British pair Jack Draper and Katie Boulter are through to the next rounds of the Japan Open and China Open respectively after wins against Hubert Hurkacz and Taylor Townsend.

Draper, 22, took 84 minutes to beat second seed Hurkacz 6-4 6-4 in Tokyo, while Boulter won 6-4 6-4 against Townsend in Beijing in her first match since a disappointing second-round exit at the US Open.

Draper's victory - his third against a top-10 opponent in 2024 - sets up a quarter-final against the winner between France's Ugo Humbert and American Brandon Nakashima.

After becoming the first British man to reach the US Open semi-final since Andy Murray in 2012, Draper says he wants to continue to emulate the Scot.

it's not gonna make it longer, doesn't change a thing, they advise during the breaks, but break duration does not change

it's not gonna make any difference, they all advise anyway

Good news for GB.

Jack Draper climbed to a highest ever ranking of #18 this week.

He's backed that achievement up with 2 straight sets wins in the Vienna Open (Quarter Final tomorrow)

Draper through to the final in Vienna, will face Karen Khachanov. Looks like he'll be climbing to a ranking of #15 no matter the outcome of the final.
Great week for Jack. Mad how he seemed to fall apart whilst in total control though. At the moment that’s what will stop him from getting to a Grand Slam final
Jack's been rewarded with a new peak ranking of #15

disappointing week in Paris with Sinner withdrawing and Alcaraz, Medvedev, Draper, Fritz all losing early

Rublev and Ruud seem to be losing on R1 at each tournement for months now, how can they still be tip 10?

World number two and five-time Grand Slam champion Iga Swiatek has accepted a one-month suspension after testing positive for a banned substance.

The 23-year-old reigning French Open champion tested positive for a heart medication, trimetazidine (TMZ), in an out-of-competition sample in August 2024, when she was world number one.

The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) accepted that it was caused by contamination of the regulated non-prescription medication melatonin, manufactured and sold in Poland, which Swiatek took for jet lag and sleep issues.

oh my thats crazy Simona didn't really really get the same result :D
