August 23, 2024Aug 23 RFK Jr. has officially quit the race. From Reuters CHICAGO — A revolting surprise greeted Democratic convention-goers Wednesday when maggots and crickets were found during a hotel breakfast service — and the FBI is now investigating the apparent activist stunt. At around 6:45 a.m. hotel guests discovered the nauseating protein-packed topping — requiring at least one person to be assessed by first responders. “We can confirm that a group of individuals caused a disruption at a DNC-related breakfast event at our hotel this morning,” Fairmont Chicago hotel spokesperson Haley Robles told WGN-TV. What an awful thing to do. Wasn't the heavily guarded hotel where Harris and Walz and families are staying. Edited August 23, 2024Aug 23 by crazy chris
August 24, 2024Aug 24 Kamala said she'll be tough on dictators and warmongers, "No way will I be on the phone cosying up to them"
August 24, 2024Aug 24 A female SS agent on Kamala's immediate first team is in trouble after she left her side to breastfeed her baby which was in a nearby car with her husband. She said Kamala was safe in a reception with other agents who covered for her and are also being questioned. She should have waited for her break. Wrong though. What if there was an attack and she was one down? If she'd been on the outer perimeter it wouldn't have been too bad but she was one of her close 4 bodyguards.
August 24, 2024Aug 24 I bet he'll drop Vance and bring in Kennedy, which is how he got Kennedy to agree to it!! As Vance is HISTORICALLY unpopular, and Brainwork McGee has a built in voter base.
August 25, 2024Aug 25 Some wild rumours on “social” media that Trump is going to drop Vance. I wouldn't be surprised if he does that. Vance is as popular as influenza,
August 27, 2024Aug 27 He won’t drop Vance. Vance is quite popular among certain type of Republicans. Nothing has changed from a month or so ago for me. Still a complete 50/50. Will come down to a small number of people in a few states. Could be decided by Gaza, RFK, pro-life people feeling Trump is betraying them, anything. You really can’t call it. Of course the debate got rid of Biden last time so that could do something but who knows. Feels similar to 2016 though more than 2020

As a person who lives in US, I totally feel different and I could say the same for majority of my circle. In 2016, it totally felt like, there's no way Trump will win etc etc and we felt so comfortable that Hillary will win. And we know how that ended. So, I don't think anyone feels the same way this time around. No one is feeling comfortable nor assure that Kamala is walking with this. Yes, there is a buzz around it but I think that has to do more with the fact that Biden dropped!!! It's razor thin close and it will all depend on WI, MI, and PA in the end.

It's razor thin close and it will all depend on WI, MI, and PA in the end. 2020 didn’t feel like a real toss-up, Trump was destined to lose and didn’t really have much to go on to salvage it. 2016 was more an overrated overhyped candidate with a lot of PR and social media gawker type buzzfeed people. When it came down to it people had more enthusiasm for Trump than Hillary and I kind of sense a similar feeling, people are trying to create a Kamala slay cool type thing but it’s not authentic. Kamala is avoiding interviews and its like a very focus group type campaign, it doesn’t seem truly authentic. That’s the kind of feeling I get.
August 27, 2024Aug 27 I agree that it's 50/50 but my priors are giving a slight lean and advantage to the Democrats, they have an easier path to 270 even if many of their states will be closer, at this point in time the only state I'm concerned about is PA, and I get the feeling that further campaigning will extend Kamala's polling lead, as that's what has happened so far in her campaign, the more people see of her, the more they like her. Not sure where you're getting dodging interviews and un-authentic campaigning from, it's Trump who's floating the idea that he'll chicken out of the debates and the general mood of comments I've seen have been favourably comparing this campaign's energy and 'positively voting for something' to the last 2 Democratic campaigns, which were awful at doing that.

This is what I mean about PR though. Trump hasn’t pulled out of any debates. He did the one with Biden early even though that was on CNN a company he’s had many disputes with. The next one is in ABC again a company more favourable to the other side. Yet the one on Fox News, Kamala has no interest in taking part in. It’s very stage managed. Trump is a chicken if he doesn’t do a debate with it stacked against him which he will as he’s attention orientated but Kamala avoids interviews and debates that might be more tricky and suddenly it’s seen as a good campaign strategy. Eventually the average person on the fence kind of gets put off by that. If Kamala is this great prosecutor and Trump is this aging rambling doofus she should want all the debates on offer and expose this and win easily. But the reality is she was pretty hopeless in the Democratic debates back when Tulsi Gubbard went viral pointing out certain things and Trump is unpredictable and often has quite witty comebacks so it’s a risk hence the way they’re stage managing it a bit too much. You gotta let people see what she is really made of. Even her policies seem a bit missing at the moment. Really they’re running on Trump being bad and this project25 stuff maybe it’ll work but it could backfire too if it just looks like they’re hiding her away or have nothing to offer

Trump the invented it. That said, Hasrris needs to start doing some in=depth interviews. So far, she has done as many as our head of state had to do before being installed.

The initial schedule was one on CNN (who despite their left-leaning bias is still generally seen as a reputable news organisation), one on ABC, and particularly ABC is generally non-partisan, if you see them as favourable to the left that sorta says more about you. Trump's initial strategy was to pull out of the ABC debate on the pretense that they'd agreed to date Biden, not Harris. Then when that was obviously rebuffed, the Trump campaign come back with a previously unfloated date on the nakedly partisan and not even real news, rather 'edutainment', Fox News ahead of the debate date at the balanced venue. Only a fool would have let them change the previously agreed deal like that, and it's reaching of them to try to in the first place. But tbf none of this really matters, Harris will give plenty of interviews between now and November and no one except the terminally online and politically engaged is noticing a slight delay in getting that started. I don't pretend either to know how the debates will go, I could say both what you have about her previously panned debate style and Trump's unpredictability and I could also say that she's clearly gotten better as a speaker since 2020 and she herself is hardly the most predictable debate opponent, certainly different from Trump's previous opponents. As he continues to age into the rambling doofus he is. And hey look, I don't like that the Dem campaign is light on policy either, but a) there will absolutely be policy coming out and b) policy does not get an election campaign, particularly one as big as this going. I wish it wasn't so, but they are right at this stage to be focusing on vibes.
August 28, 2024Aug 28 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/world-news/2024...sumption-warns/ UK judge calling out the UDsystem and irs Supreme Couet! Not surprising, when the Republicans have taken it over and legislate via an unelected boey. Because they have never cared much about democracy. What is it called when a counrry bases irs decisions on a historical document again btw? An originaist system?

The conservatives on the Supreme Court, particularly Thomas who is originalist to the point of parody, ask 'What would the Founding Fathers do?' before applying any judicial review, and spend their time twisting the words of the Constitution to suit their preferred biases.
August 30, 2024Aug 30 Kamala's done an interview by the way, I'm sure everyone who was criticising her about having not done one is rushing to watch and draw conclusions from it now she's out there. But they're probably going to pivot and complain that it wasn't live or some shit. Seems milquetoast and uneventful to be perfectly honest, she'll put a Republican in cabinet (very likely a non-MAGA cult Repubiclan if she can find one), she spun her wheels on I/P as was the only option, she expressed support for Biden. Decent, normal candidate stuff. meanwhile Trump goes off selling trading cards
