Just listened to 'Damdiggida', love it already! Giving me 90's vibe

Here is the recap as we speak:

KEiiNO and not one, but two guys dressed up in goth facepaint? That's promising for when I listen later.

Aden Foyer still not participating. :(

He should participate next year considering how big The Ballet Girl is in Norway.

KEiiNO!!!!

Just listened to Damdiggida as well, I can’t say it’s my favourite track from them honestly.

I’ll probably listen to the rest of the tracks this weekend. But yeah Damdiggida isn’t hitting the heights that Spirt In The Sky or MONUMENT hit.

Okay maybe Damdiggida has some legs, but I don’t see this winning MGP let alone Eurovision, but gonna try and give the rest of the tracks a listen to now.

NO THANKS:

Erika Norwich, Super Rob - My AI

I mean, Margaret has the potential to be much higher, but somethings not sitting right with me with Oblivion.

Mileo sounds like Eric Saade in 2010/11.

Not a great year overall.

Top 5: 8.3/10

Quite disappointing for Myra as she has a lot better and cooler songs. Damdiggida is easily KEiiNO's worst attempt for me. Oblivion should've been sung by Moyka though :P

Overall I think this edition is not as strong as in 2021-2023 but still some worth checking out

Damdiggida song of the year I know that’s right

(Yes I’m fully aware it’s 6th January)

I feel like My AI wins, horrific 😭
The only songs that made a notable impression on me on first listen were My AI (musically this is right out of 1999/2000 but the Subwoolfer voters are going to love this and I guess it was only a matter of time before an AI song went to Eurovision), Damdiggida (but it's a big step down from their previous MGP entries), Oblivion (again, notably weaker than I Feed You My Love but still a good song), Green Lights (really nice pop song), and Ulveham (hopefully impactful staging for this - really liked it on first listen). I enjoyed Farida's too but I don't see it as much of a contender.

I have been impulsively recoiling from 'My AI' as it feels exactly like a song that a hack cyberpunk writer would insert to make a point about a screwed up society fawning over the latest technology. Far more positive technological advances we could be bringing to Eurovision too, like vtubers.

Ulveham sounds great from the first half of the songs I've listened to, I'd take that or Damdiggida very happily.

'My AI' seems right up Norway's street, they better not disappoint me.

Not really here for this KEiiNO track. If 'Monument' couldn't win MGP, this shouldn't come anywhere close, one of their worst releases for me :(

The robot song has been stuck in my head since I first heard it- feels like someone asked an AI to write an Aqua song.

My rankings by semi

Margaret Berger - Oblivion (8/10)

Mathilde SPZ feat. Chris Archer & Slam Dunk - Woman Show (8/10)

Fredrik Halland - Stranded (8/10)

Myra - Heart on Fire (7.5/10)

Gothminister - We Come Alive (7/10)

Ingrid Jasmin - Eya (6/10)

Erika Norwich, Super Rob - My AI (10/10)

Mileo - You're Mine (7.5/10)

Farida - Heartbreak (7.5/10)

Anne Fagermo, Dag Erik Oksvold - Judge Tenderly of Me (6/10)

Gåte - Ulveham (5/10)

Eli Kristin Hanssveen - Touch of Venus (3/10)

Vidar Villa - MER (8/10)

MIIA - Green Lights (8/10)

Annprincess - Save Me (7/10)

KEiiNO - Damdiggida (6/10)

Mistra - Waltz of Death (5/10)

Thomas Jenssen - Take Me to Heaven (5/10)

There is only one option to go with - the Eurovision fans really want to meet Rob in person :cheer:

The first heat is the one I'll be around to watch, so pleased it's the strongest overall. "Oblivion" is so much better than "I Feed You my Love" for me, and "Woman Show" is giving fun Melfest entry.

This is really disappointing from KEiiNO, to not even see them as worthy of the final.

Alessandra came out with a song called 'narcissist' at the same time as the artists for mgp was announced, which is sooo good! It's miles better than anything in mgp this year!

Raylee did the same with a song called “Charade” which is suspiciously also 3 minute long.

However, the song isn’t great and likely a MGP reject.
