June 27, 20241 yr The artists who won’t license their music should take a leaf out of Pet Shop Boys, Bruce Springsteen and Ed Sheeran’s books and backtrack on this why do you say that?
June 28, 20241 yr It also came to me that they don’t wanna spend too much money on having certain artists appear on their albums but they were happy to try and get Taylor Swift to appear on the Pride spin-off 2 years ago in fact, there were quite a few artists that appeared on there who don’t normally license their music. They don’t wanna try and get those artists for the numbered series but they’d do it for a spin-off
June 28, 20241 yr It also came to me that they don’t wanna spend too much money on having certain artists appear on their albums but they were happy to try and get Taylor Swift to appear on the Pride spin-off 2 years ago in fact, there were quite a few artists that appeared on there who don’t normally license their music. They don’t wanna try and get those artists for the numbered series but they’d do it for a spin-off I would imagine a lot of artists reduced or even waived their fees and normal stipulations to support Pride, which is why we saw so many rare names like Mariah, Madonna, Taylor etc, and even Queen not insisting on kicking it off (I Want To Break Free, ironically, wouldn't have been a bad opener). Now probably went to all the labels and said 'we know you don't usually license, but do you want to do this one because of the theme?' and it would be a pretty bad look to say no considering the large LGBTQIA+ fanbases all those acts have. I don't think this would extend to the normal numbered albums or any other spin-off. Hypothetically, if you were part of the Now team and had X amount of money to spend on songs in order to even make a small profit and Taylor's one song cost half of your budget, would you even bother trying to get it, knowing that you would lose out on so many other hits due to one license eating up your budget? We all complain about either the mass of fillers or the lack of the big hitters, or both, but you can't have everything. I think they strike an ok balance right now with 15 big hits, 15 or so medium hits and 15-20 fillers. I'd far rather that than Taylor, Beyoncé and 48 fillers, with no other big hits present. Budget is budget, you can't have it both ways.
June 29, 20241 yr Author For the last time...is the NOW 115 review ready? For the last time...where is my "thank you" for making the 115 review thread ready for you on your birthday?
June 29, 20241 yr I just hope that Now Yearbook 1993 beats Now Summer Party 2024 to the top of the compilation chart come Friday
June 29, 20241 yr I wonder why they released them on the same week, with nothing out next week. I think both should clear The Greatest Showman soundtrack, no idea how much the summer release sold last year, it peaked at No.2 behind Metro Boomin', so less than 3.2k.

I think both should clear The Greatest Showman soundtrack, no idea how much the summer release sold last year, it peaked at No.2 behind Metro Boomin', so less than 3.2k. That’s one of the reasons why they should’ve released one of them yesterday and one of them this Friday so both can get turns at #1

July 2, 20241 yr Strange that Steve Miller Band and Bass-O-Matic were missing as they both appeared on the recent Now Yearbook 1990.
July 2, 20241 yr Strange that Steve Miller Band and Bass-O-Matic were missing as they both appeared on the recent Now Yearbook 1990. Same when Beats International got removed from Now 17 as they’d just appeared on Now 1983-1993

July 5, 20241 yr As predicted, Now Yearbook 1993 has beaten Now Summer Party 2024 to the top of the compilation chart and I’m glad it did but to be honest, they shouldn’t have released both albums at the same time. They should’ve released the latter today and it might’ve had a chance of going #1 next week and I’m surprised they didn’t announce Now Yearbook Extra 1993 yesterday. Let’s hope it gets announced this Thursday
July 5, 20241 yr I predict the artwork be a garden with a fountain and butterflies, and the NOW logo having a green outline. Can someone try to make a decent picture of it? Sadly not quite, but here's a concept image. Imagine the fountain further over to the right so it's in better view, and the outline of the title in green, and obviously with 91 on it.
July 6, 20241 yr Thanks, love it! The disc art should be green with the NOW logo on top and white butterflies appearing as silhouettes.
July 7, 20241 yr Nice. It doesn't have to be AI-generated, you can use Photoshop as well. Edited July 7, 20241 yr by WazzupMyBoyz
