Posted April 10, 20241 yr Scheduled for a Valentine's Day 2025 release in the US, Hugh Grant is BACK, Colin Firth is OUT and Leo Woodall ("The White Lotus" and "One Day") is joining the cast, rumoured to be the new love interest for a widowed Bridget. There hasn't been a dud in this series so far and the last movie was one of my favourites of 2016 (back at a time when I was going to the cinema about one hundred times a year), so my excitement for this is high!
April 10, 20241 yr OMG I love that they are doing this. The book was awesome and yes it is sad, but it's a good story to tell
April 10, 20241 yr Given the synopsis, I'm not sure if I read it!! The last one I read, shewas in hospital and she knocked over some diluting juice. Is that Baby or this one? I can't remember any deaths though
April 12, 20241 yr No Colin Firth? Feels wrong without him in it, thought they managed to get away with the lack of Hugh Grant but the true love interest not being in it seems wrong.
April 14, 20241 yr Bridget Jones's Baby has become my favourite of the lot so I'm glad they're keeping this going with a new one. Yay for Hugh Grant
April 17, 20241 yr Ohhhhh I'm gonna need to do a Bridget Jones binge bc I can't even remember who she married, did she not have Patrick Dempsey's baby after they banged in a tent at a festival?
May 30, 20241 yr Returns now confirmed for Sarah Solemani, Sally Phillips, Shirley Henderson, James Callis, Jim Broadbent and Gemma Jones.
June 1, 20241 yr I just remembered I read the third Bridget Jones book, if it is following that story then I of course get why no Colin Firth in the movie!
November 12, 2024Nov 12 The trailer has landed. Out Valentine's Day next year: fc5zbSCgudA So looking forward to this! I loved the last film.
November 12, 2024Nov 12 Author I'm very confused about how everything online seems to suggest the trailer only dropped today, but I definitely saw a trailer at Vue just over a month ago   Excited to see Leo Woodall in it
November 12, 2024Nov 12 It was revealed at the very end of the last film that he was found alive How have I watched each film countless times and never noticed this
February 14Feb 14 Saw the final Bridget Jones instalment last night and in a word my response was 'wow' I believe it was the 3rd book released. The 3rd film was then made into a book and was the 4th book released. I know there was some shock from 'fans' upon hearing about the death of one of the characters, but anyone who had read the book would have known this was happening. My overall thoughts on the movie - a brilliant return for Bridget & Co, in a movie that had a lot of heart (I cried at least 5 times). It brings back much loved characters and gives you a nice bout of nostalgia. My only notes are that I always want to see the friends more (especially Sally Phillips) and Isla Fisher's cameo was pretty much pointless. Anyone else planning on seeing it? February 15Feb 15 Isla Fisher's cameo was pretty much pointless. Isla Fisher was in it?? I completely missed that! Who did she play? Saw it last night and it was fine but I thought it lacked some of the spark and magic of the first three. There were a few periods where I felt it dragged a bit. Definitely my least favourite of the four.
February 16Feb 16 Isla Fisher was in it?? I completely missed that! Who did she play? Saw it last night and it was fine but I thought it lacked some of the spark and magic of the first three. There were a few periods where I felt it dragged a bit. Definitely my least favourite of the four. She was Bridget’s neighbour who you saw in one scene. Assumed she’d come back at some point but she never did!
February 17Feb 17 Just got back from seeing it, loved every second of it. Hugh Grant was hilarious He's supposed ro be deceased in BJ!!!
