I would suspect Mark Knopfler would shift more physicals than Beyonce but he of course won’t have much in the way of streaming points so who knows - I would probably still bet on Mark

Beyoncé has the physical release this week I think she has it in the bag. I can’t lie though I was hoping it’s streams would’ve held up better than they have

Will be interesting I guess maybe even Amy winehouse has a chance not sure if that still qualifies

I have literally never heard of that person in my life

Main guy behind Dire Straits.

Think Mark Knopfler will be #1 in albums, James could also have a chance

is Beyoncé definitely in the shops? My record store had a sign saying there were distribution problems

and only had few vinyls and no Cds

What makes everyone think this Mark Knopfler will be #1 though? His last album only made #17 and he’s never had a #1 before.
[Perrie is] doing a lot better than Leigh Ann did, on course for top 20 at minimum
She's doing a lot better than Leigh Ann did, on course for top 20 at minimum

I would consider that a success, not a flop.

I think their popularity transcended Simon’s favouritism ever since Black Magic.

Black Magic that was one of the most overrated #1s of the 2010s.

What makes everyone think this Mark Knopfler will be #1 though? His last album only made #17 and he’s never had a #1 before.

He's the leader of Dire Straits one of the biggest UK bands of the 80s, the Dire Straits fanbase is huge

he made #17 with his last album but that was ages ago and in Q4/pre-Xmas

when people were actually going to the shops and buying music, so probably minimum 10-12K

but of course it all depends if the fanbase responds

Had no idea [that Leigh-Anne debuted at #11], yeah she debuted at 11 which is pretty good honestly since she was the least well known one I'd say. Perrie could well beat that I guess depends on how many physicals she has sold

Thread re-opened. I'm going to make it extremely clear. This thread is to discuss and analyse the streaming charts. There is *no* reason to be coming for other members, being rude, stirring the pot, deliberately trolling, or trying to get a reaction from other people. ANY further infractions will result in posts deleted (without explanation) and warnings issued, because I'm SO bored of the ridiculous circular arguments this thread has become recently.

It's so simple - think before you post. Re-read your post to make sure it's appropriate, fair, and not coming for or winding up other members. We're all adults and everyone here knows how to debate and discuss reasonably, I'd hope.

Back to the streaming charts please.

I feel like Espresso is coming for #1

I think it'll likely do a Greedy and be a long running Top 3 hit instead tbh, but it's completely surpassed my expectations already!

UK Apple Music

#19. (+7) Sabrina Carpenter – "Espresso"

Wow.

Espresso really taking off! Can’t say it’s hit me yet but I imagine it’ll be a grower
