Posted April 24, 20241 yr "Gražios Dainos" ("Beautiful songs" on Lithuanian) is a retrospective music chart with my favourite songs on each week, which I started to compile in 2020 year. On start I had two targets, the first (all weekly charts from 1970-2012 years) is almost impossible, but the second (all charts from 1999-2003) was completed one month ago. My favourite periods in music are 1978-1983, 1999-2003 and 2005-2009, but only in 1999-2003 years many my favourite songs were successful in UK charts, that why it's my "Golden era" in pop music. Now let's listen the best songs in year-end chart format. In summary it's a strange combination of UK Top 10 hits and low-known or forgotten songs. All comments are welcome. Mostly I will like to know your opinion about lesser known songs, which weren't represented in UK singles chart. April 28, 20241 yr Don't Falter is a goodie, Lauren is still fab as a DJ and TV presenter. Atomic Kitten and M2m I liked, and also Aqua' All Around The World. I don't know the Saint Etienne track, and I'm following Bob Stanley on X these days - he's a real old-time music fan, organising album releases of classic artists half-forgotten these days. Playing it now, it's quite unusual and low-key. Sarah Cracknell's guest vocals on the fab The Journey Continues in 2008 would top my chart though!
