So Jake and Babydaddy have written 3 songs for Kylie now. 'I believe in you', 'White diamond' and 'I know'

Kylie also recorded their song formerly known as 'Blues dancing shoes' which became 'Ooh' on Ta-Dah!

I'm sure Jake and BD will be writing more for Kylie's new album.

So what does everyone think about these songs? How do they compare to Kylie's non Scissory stuff?

I like White Diamond, not a big fan of I Believe in You, but its cool!

I can just imagine Jake singing any of these songs especially White Diamond!

Is there a release date for White Diamond yet?

My mum loves I Belive In You,

And I just heard White Diamon at her concert, it sounds great!

I love 'White Diamond'.

I've never been majorly keen on 'I Believe In You' as most people are, but it's good.

'I Know' is good, it could be excellent if it was remixed, which apparently it has been for the new album, and is now titled 'Everything I Know'.

White Diamond and I Believe In You are great! Kylie goes well with the Scissor Sisters, imo.

Nope, not even confirmed if it will be a single yet! :o

:o Oh really! I presumed it was going to be released for some reason, it should be a single its great :D

Was 'I know' written by the scissors aswell then? I've not heard that one.

KYLIE DESIRABLE

By Gavin Martin 20/07/2007

THEIR friendship with celebrity cheerleader Elton John clearly did the Scissor Sisters no harm as he sang the New York band’s praises and made a guest appearance on last year’s single I Don’t Feel Like Dancin’. And now the Sisters are applying their many talents to another stellar collaboration, this time on the much-anticipated comeback album by Aussie pop princess Kylie Minogue.

But any thoughts of the flamboyant relative newcomers going easy on Kylie as she continues to ease herself back into working after her cancer treatment are dispelled by Sisters’ mainman Jake Shears.

“We definitely work her really hard in the studio, from midday to midnight,” he smiles, “although sometimes we pepper it with a shopping trip in between. We’ve written songs with her that are ridiculous and may never see the light of day. We’ve also written songs with her that I think are amazing, but they may never see the light of day either.”

Despite her illness, Jake has noticed no loss in Kylie’s zest for life.

“She’s still the same amazing person that she’s always been,” he says, “if not even more exuberant.”

Relaxing in his Stuttgart hotel room before a Scissor Sisters show, Jake, 28, is a livewire presence, full of energy and a mischievous streak. The group are still promoting their 1.4 million-selling second album Ta-Dah, but between breaks in their live schedule Shears is already looking forward to their third album. He also admits the band are planning a musical of their own – perhaps hoping to challenge Sir Elton’s presence in the West End with Billy Elliot and The Lion King.

“Yeah, it’s a weird time right now,” says Jake. “CD sales just keep going down the toilet, but it’s a transition that is really exciting. I feel like with our band and our two albums as if we have completely exceeded all our expectations. I can’t wait to make a third record and really not give a hoot about how many units we sell because I feel like we’ve done it.”

Jake’s larger-than-life persona is instantly recognisable from Scissor Sisters stage performances. The band’s brand of colourful and eclectic disco-pop snared British audiences as soon as their multi-million selling debut album was released.

Show-stopping appearances at Live 8 and the Brit Awards followed. However, they remain a cult, rather than mainstream, band in their homeland – a situation that is not likely to change anytime soon. It certainly wasn’t helped when, earlier this year, Jake told a specially invited audience of record retailers that, in his opinion, US chain Wal-Mart was overcharging for the group’s albums. It was hardly a move likely to get US salesmen on the Sisters’ side, but Jake is unrepentant.

“An album should cost $12,” he says. “I wouldn’t pay 20 bucks for an album by anyone and I wouldn’t pay $20 for one of our albums – I don’t think our music is worth it. Frankly, if it’s a choice between the album being sold for $20 and not being in the shop at all, I’d rather it wasn’t in the store.”

It’s refreshing to hear a pop star put principles ahead of profit, but then Jake is nothing if not candid. He admits that prior to Ta-Dah’s release he feared the Scissor Sisters’ second album would suffer the same ignominious fate as that suffered by The Darkness.

“I think bands pave the way for other bands,” he muses. “Just as we cleared a way for Mika, I think The Darkness cleared a way for us. I don’t think we would have hit if they hadn’t.

“I was praying that The Darkness’ second record was going to be a really big record for them. I thought if they have a really successful album it would be a good omen for us. When they didn’t reach the expected sales it really freaked me out and made it much more scary.”

However, Ta-Dah was a hit and everything seems rosy in Shearsland. But despite his capacity for hard work, Jake also makes sure that he has a fun time when he can.

“My boyfriend and I ate handfuls of magic mushrooms when Elton played his 60th birthday show at Madison Square Garden in the spring. It was the most mind expanding concert I’ve ever been to,” he laughs.

“I swear when it started I thought I was in the spaceship from Independence Day, it was that intense.”
