If only it was that easy! I mean of course they do but until you're a parent and/or work with children on a daily basis I think that's easier said than done. I am able to compromise with the kids but some parents simply can't, many of whom are very young themselves and give in. As a teacher I spend huge amounts of time dealing with supporting parents with factors such as these.

Calm the tone down with that first line? We're having a discussion you don't need to be so abrupt and call my views stupid...

And that's really really good for you that you had that upbringing and subsequently sold and made money from it all but that's not the case for everyone.

I work with children with ASD and am fairly sure I am on the spectrum too and the need to own things and collect and complete sets for some of the children and myself is a humongous burden and one that I wish I could tame and control but my brain doesn't allow me to and nor does it do so for some people I work with.

So actually no. I can't "easily just stop" but I am so happy you are able to! If my brain was wired the same way as yours maybe I could too but alas it's not, so ~ don't tell me it is easy when for me and my brain, it is impossibly difficult.

I'm only addressing the point related to me here and not the second part but I don't understand your point really - Taylor needs to stop releasing multiple variants etc because of parents who can't say no to their kids? Is there really any evidence to suggest that parents are buying every variant or merch for their nightmare kids or is it purely anecdotal?

No. I find the multiple variants overkill and unnecessary. Especially ones where only one song has been added in. And the reason I brought up the other points was because someone said "no one is forcing you to buy them" and that it's easy to not buy them all, when in fact for some people this isn't the case. I was directly replying to another poster. This post:

It's really not that deep. Just that.. for some people the huge amount of variants will be hard to not buy all of, which is a fact?

The lack of reading here is making my head hurt~

I'm a huge Taylor fan. I have all of her Taylor Version albums on vinyl except for this one because I'm waiting for a version that has standard and anthology editions together. She's one of my most played artists, I've gone to Taylor specific club nights, I eagerly anticipate most releases she does...

You whinging about lack of reading however I asked you a question 1 week ago and you didn't bother replying.

Where have I said she needs to stop releasing!? I was simply responding to a post that said "it's easy to just not buy them" when it isn't for some people?

She can release whatever she wants (as much as I think it's overkill)!

I am whinging about it because the person is quoting my posts but then saying things that aren't in said quote and I'm asking that they read the post before assuming what I am saying. The poster admitted to not reading the whole post!

Me not replying to your post which stated that people with ASD have spending issues doesn't mean I didn't read it? Spending issues has nothing to do with it. People with and without ASD can overspend. The ASD aspect is the need to have complete sets of things and own it all - something I experience very regularly

The UK autism website mentions collecting things and "hoarding" collections is a trait: https://www.autism.org.uk/advice-and-guidan...s/all-audiences

All of my posts are about how it is not EASY for some people to not collect things. So having 35 variants or whatever is a gargantuan mission for some and they won't be able to say no.

I am not anti-Taylor (far from it!). :drama: I am talking about the collection aspect of it all and how some fans will get everything no matter what! Great for Taylor and her sales - tough for some of her fans!

Good article about the topic of variants and how the buyers feel:

For some comparison, Stacey estimates she’s spent a few hundred dollars on the “Tortured Poets” era; Emily calculates she spent $260 on “TTPD” and a ballpark figure of nearly $2,000 for all of the singer’s albums; Stephanie estimates she’s paid around $10,000 for all of Swift’s eras.

Interesting debate and some good discussion to read her- personally I susbscribe to all theories! Like someone has already said, she clearly has a lot of control/say in her career (if not everything). However I don't believe she signs off every single little decison, there will be some stuff she trusts her teams to do as it aligns to their strategy and goal, which ultimately is create a legacy. I'd say she's doing a pretty fine job of that, but there is the worry that someone will always come around and do it better eventually. I do actually have a lot of time for her, but she does hold narcassistic character vibes.. I mean she's made an exempaloray career out of writing about her ex-boyfriend's through music and not even trying to hide it!

A few people mentioned her blocking artists like Sabrina Carpenter and Gracie - not sure I see this. If anything, she would probably take credit for what they are achieving by giving them slots on her tour. Sure Sabrina Carpenter was probably destined for a half decent career in anyway.. but no way she gets to work with the producers she currently is without the Swift impact.

And finally on Charli specifically.. I do think this one might have been personal. Not sure it's been mentioned in here, but Charli is going out with someone from The 1975 (and has been for some time) so they have no doubt crossed paths and I know which side of the debate Charli's bread will be buttered on..

Thank you that wasn't hard was it, even though I have Austism I don't know everything about it.
