January 7Jan 7 Nuno is a fantastic coach. I don't feel like this run is unsustainable in anyway, that we're being particularly lucky or anything (although Wolves had 3 great chances at 1-0, from 2-0 the game was superbly managed). Playing football in a way which suits the squad we've got, not keeping the ball for the sake of it, but winning it and getting it forwards where a trio behind the striker with huge amounts of skill and pace can thrive in space. A centre half pairing which is absolutely immense and has all the qualities that top class pairings in the past (e.g. Vidic and Ferdinand, Terry and Carvalho) have had, both of them surely set for great things above what we might be able to offer, and all done without our best midfielder from last season (stretchered off 10 mins into the season) and our record signing (injured during the first international break). A tough run coming up with 7 of the next 8 against teams in the top half, but I don't see us finishing lower than 5th now.
January 8Jan 8 West Ham have sacked manager Julen Lopetegui after just six months in charge. Former Wolves boss Lopetegui, 58, was appointed in May following the departure of predecessor David Moyes. He officially took charge on 1 July, and the Hammers have won just six Premier League games during his tenure. Saturday's 4-1 defeat by Manchester City was a ninth loss in 20 league games this season and left the club 14th - seven points above the relegation zone. The club have held talks with former Chelsea and Brighton boss Graham Potter about succeeding Lopetegui, initially on a short-term deal.
January 8Jan 8 He did a really terrible job when you consider the talent they have then again it’s a Moyes looking team without Moyes
January 8Jan 8 Moyes kept them top half most seasons and literally won their first European trophy in 40 years - he did an exceptional job as their manager. Where they are now simply shows how good a job he did.
January 9Jan 9 The cup win was cute but they were going backwards under Moyes, the second half of last season they were defensively abysmal with the third most conceded in the whole league. Lopetegui was a terrible choice of replacement but that didn't mean that Moyes should have been retained either.
January 9Jan 9 Graham Potter says he is looking forward to a "big challenge" after being confirmed as the new West Ham manager. The 49-year-old has signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with the London club, who sacked Julen Lopetegui on Wednesday after six months in charge. "It's a proud day to be head coach of this amazing club, big tradition, big history, big expectations, big challenge," Potter said. "I'm really excited, it's a bit like Christmas – Christmas for the adults. "I'm looking forward to meeting the players today, meeting our supporters and getting going."
January 9Jan 9 Sean Dyche has been sacked as Everton manager three hours before their FA Cup third round match against Peterborough.
January 10Jan 10 If Moyes ends up back at Everton, having returns back to West Ham for a second stint previously... this means he's due to return to the dugout at Manchester United when they sack Amorim in the future.
January 14Jan 14 Author 7 points ahead of Arsenal I'll take that. Slightly worrying Liverpool have hit a patchy run of form, but we were way better in the second half and should have won. Those Champions League places are wide open though, wonder if 63 points might get Top 4/5. Certainly think at this stage 70 points gets you Champions League.
January 14Jan 14 Well saka and Jesus injuries put arsenals chances down so the title race is barely a thing. Top 4 should be a good race. Pep might need to see a therapist just split from his wife of 30 years and looked like a madman at the end
