Bristol Rovers have sacked boss Matt Taylor after their defeat by Birmingham left the club two points above the League One relegation zone.

Taylor, 42, was appointed on 1 December last year on a three-and-a-half year deal and oversaw 10 wins as the club went on to finish 15th last season.

However, Rovers have won only six out of 19 league games this season and the 2-0 defeat by Blues was their third straight loss, leaving them 20th in the table.

Taylor's assistant Wayne Carlisle has also been relieved of his duties, with coaches David Horseman and Lee Cattermole taking interim charge.

Managerial Changes Since:

Bristol Rovers- Matt Taylor (16 December 2024) [sacked]

Bristol Rovers- Inigo Calderon (26 December 2024) [Appointed]

Wycombe Wanderers- Matt Bloomfield (14 January 2025) [signed by Luton Town]

The Top 4 look fairly clear of the rest in League 1 at the moment - 6 points between Huddersfield in fourth and Barnsley in fifth (plus Huddersfield have a game in hand). Only a few point between each of the Top 4 and the team above them though!

Wycombe Wanderers have appointed Mike Dodds as their new head coach on a contract until the summer of 2028.

He replaces Matt Bloomfield who left Adams Park last month after two years in charge to become manager of Championship club Luton Town.

Dodds was assistant head coach at Sunderland, where he also had three spells as interim boss, winning four of his 18 games in charge.

"His track record in improving individual players [and] developing young talent was a key factor in our decision, as we believe this will be crucial to our long-term success," said a Wycombe statement.

"In addition, Mike shares our vision of building the club through innovation and data, ensuring that we continue to evolve and stay ahead in an increasingly competitive landscape.
