The second quarter-final sees a repeat of the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France at the Volksparkstadion, Hamburg. For Portugal they needed a penalty shootout to beat Slovenia which was notable for a Ronaldo penalty miss and some tears from him, in the end it was their goalkeeper Diogo Costa who become the first goalie to make three saves in a penalty shootout at the Euros. For France they got through thanks to a Jan Vertonghen own goal in their match against Belgium which wasn't the most exciting game of the Euros.

How do we see this one going?

Not very inspiring game this. Very little ambition from either team.

A goal would liven it up.

Will Ronaldo let someone else take a free kick this time for Portugal?

He let Bruno take one but he isn’t much better

Why can't these teams just play good football, like Spain and Germany? Not like these teams are lacking in talent either.

João Palhinha booked for Portugal, if Portugal win he'll miss the semi-final.

I thought cards got reset after this round?

France could get to the semis without scoring a goal themselves in open play.

Cautions from matches in the tournament that have not resulted in a suspension expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals.
