Chart 5.7.24

 

Its an incredibly busy week on chart! With so many events occuring, streams have been divided over several focus points rather than the usual focus on the top of the chart, so Lola Young manages to sneak in a week with 'Messy' despite overall low streams for the track! The focus points include Avril Lavigne, after I saw her live in Bedford Park on saturday, A growing appeal for Chappell Roan's album Rise & Fall of a Midwest Princess, a new album from Camila Cabello and several newbies and old songs returning to my focus!

 

Lets start with Camila, I met her on monday at her signing and she was the sweetest loveliest person! 'Twentysomethings' from the album opens at #2. Lower down, I LUV IT re-enters at #12, June Gloom is at #16, Dade County Dreaming at #27, HOT UPTOWN at #37, Dream-Girls at #38, pretty when i cry at #40, B.O.A.T. at #43, HE KNOWS back at #48 and Chanel No.5 at #50! The album debuts at #1 on the albums chart!

 

Gracie & Taylor slip to #3, While Please Please Please and Genesis. switch positions at #5 and #6. Blowing Smoke slips to #8 and Sympathy is a knife is at #9.

 

Now onto Avril, she was amazing in Bedford! And although i loved her whole set, there were a couple songs ive been focusing on post concert, including Smile [#4], What The Hell [#7], Complicated [#10] and Bite Me [#11]! Classics like Sk8er Boi and Girlfriend also enter the chart! Her Greatest Hits album also climbs to #2 on the albums!

 

Lower down there are more Avril entries, Chappell Roan continues to grow her dominance including getting to a new high of #3 on the albums, as well as re-entries for Taylor Swift, Fleetwood Mac and Dua Lipa! There are also debuts for Noah Kahan & Kelsea Ballerini, the Kid LAROI, and despite only dropping at 5pm on wednesday (7 hours before the tracking weeks end), Quavo & Lana Del Rey's trap-country banger Tough is new at #29, and is looking solid for #1 next week!

I'm glad romsee sympathy is a knife managing another week top 10. Top tier music right there.

That's a great climb for hot to go. The video is alright mind you, I expected a tad better. I took a swift tour though her videography on YouTube. She's had quite a few bops in her time.

Oooh fortnight taking a hearty beating this week. Oops. Hopefully it'll rebound at some point.

Tough is quite good isn't it. I'm on board definitely.

That's a welcome return for style. It really is timeless and I enjoy it so much more now than I did when it released originally back on the day.
