Hi all,

 

I've sent this out as a bulk email to the forum but posting it here in case it doesn't deliver or for anyone who has emails turned off.

 

Due to an ongoing issue involving validation and lost password emails in the forum software, I've been made aware over the last few months of people being locked out of their accounts. Validating users see a message at the top of the forum index directing them to drop me a PM to validate their account, which has worked nicely to rectify the problem for those who follow that procedure. Unfortunately, the PM system isn't available to anyone who's lost their password, and not everyone has me/other members who can pass the message on on social media.

 

Therefore, if you have not received a password recovery email, please send an email to buzzjackmanagement@outlook.com from the same email address registered to your account, and of course, mention your username in the email. I've connected this address to my emails at home so I'll see them coming through and will be able to assist you!

 

Just in case the email doesn't send, I've also added it to the version of the index panel that guests see, below the log-in boxes.

 

Any questions, please ask in here, or drop an email to that address.

Update - I don't think the email sent at all :tearsmile: there's a big problem with the email system and I've tried looking into it but I don't think there's anything I can do.

 

Please bear in mind that if you forget your password and no email comes through, that you'll need to then send an email to the above email - guests can view this thread so it's accessible to you even if you're locked out. I'm sorry there's no better way to fix this!

Whatever I did yesterday has certainly kickstarted something with the email system - the "error log" is now updating and I can see who's requesting lost passwords but not receiving the emails, allowing me to reach out to them for assistance through this email address. Not the most efficient system still but it's better than nothing. I've also turned off email validation for new accounts, instead selecting manual admin validation which is what I've been doing anyway.

Oh that second note there Joseph, I received PM email notifications again today for the first time in an age, so something is definitely working today on the email front. ^_^

Hadn't realised that I have been off-line for just over a year.
