It's still really galling how Billboard went to great lengths to seemingly deny 'Levitating' a week at #1 due to supposed nefarious activity, then just after BTS were #1 for weeks with 'Butter' by gaming the system :/

We haven’t had a British artist at #1 at all this year

Not quite - Wham! were number 1 from the 1st - 4th January 2024.

Not quite - Wham! were number 1 from the 1st - 4th January 2024.

Im on about songs reaching #1 inside this year. I don’t count Wham! as they first reached #1 in 2021 and have done so multiple times

Yeah, Last Christmas has nothing to do with current UK music industry which seems to be in all time low place commercially. Thank god for Charli and Dua.

.....and JADE

..And Central Cee and Artemas if a top 5 hit means a thing. It's a rare breed.

Looking at YTD album chart, only ONE new British album is in top 40, and that's Radical Optimism. Brat should join it soon.

It's pretty wild that Charli XCX is likely to have the best selling UK album this year - depending on what Coldplay do with their upcoming album.

Charli got the perfect strategy for getting lots of album streams every week with multiple songs simultaneously blowing up for different reasons, some cos of playlists, some cos of tiktok

Official charts just posted a Thursday top 10 update cmom jade 1 more day hold top 5

The race for this week's Official Number 1 single's a right nail-biter, isn't it?

Earlier this week, we revealed Sabrina Carpenter's set to replace herself at the summit for a second time this year, with Please Please Please tracking for a return to the top.

Top 10 in 60 Seconds (July 19)

But there's still all to play for, as Chappell Roan's breakout banger Good Luck, Babe! is hot on Sabrina's heels. In today's update, the track's expected to climb to a brand-new peak on the UK's Official Singles Chart.

Good Luck, Babe! now eyes a Number 2 placing on this week's chart, beating its previous best of Number 4.

Billie Eilish's BIRDS OF A FEATHER and Myles Smith's Stargazing could reach new highs, too; now predicted to land at Numbers 3 and 4 respectively.

But who's set to claim this week's highest new entry?

Jade Thirlwall

JADE's brilliantly-chaotic everything-but-the-iamspamspamamisink debut Angel Of My Dreams currently looks to take that title, expecting to land the Little Mix star her first-ever solo Top 5 single this week (5).

Not too far behind JADE in today's update is Eminem's former chart-topper Houdini (6), with Dasha's Austin looking to flaunt its longevity inside the UK Top 10 (7).

Meanwhile, BTS idol Jimin could claim his second Official Top 10 single with Who. The second track lifted from his MUSE album, Who eyes a Number 8 entry this week. Should it hold on, it'll match Jimin's previous Official Chart peak with 2023's Like Crazy.

Wasnt expecting Chapel to catch Billie

as Billie is ahead on Spotify and Apple but no clue about other outlets

Good luck, Chappell. You get that #2 queen! If only we had Jade at #4 it would be 100% pop girl.

Guessing Jade will debut at #7, Chappel will hit #2

Also think Chappel’s hot to go and Charli’s 360 will just make top 20 pushing out Taylor

I like 'Good Luck, Babe!' and 'BIRDS OF A FEATHER' about the same amount (that is, both among the best songs in the current top 40!) so not too bothered which way around they end up, I guess it's better for Chappell to get the #2 since Billie has had several top 2 hits already. I just really wish one of them could be #1 instead of the mediocrity that's continuing to hog that position.

That whole iTunes blitz (plus his big Spotify re-entry) so far only lifting Jimin from #11 to #8. I guess he could still be a top 5 contender if he continues gaining at the same rate though. Hope Kendrick will still be good for another top 10 re-entry anyway since he was up to #9 yesterday.

Interestingly while 'Who' is looking set to do the same or better than 'Like Crazy' in the UK, it's currently only projected to debut at around #15 in the US where 'Like Crazy' got to #1. I don't remember if that was before or after certain rule changes.

Like Crazy sold like 250,000 downloads in the US, only Anti-Hero done better in recent times

next week it fell 1-45 I think

no clue how the new one is doing
