This is so true! I think they still use 'more music variety' as well, glad it's not just me who thinks that it's very inaccurate, presumably they only use 'more music variety' as a comparison to Capital! Every day I've listened to it - no matter which year - I hear the same set of songs (Miss Independent, Uptown Funk, It Feels So Good, Want To Want Me, etc), it's very boring to listen to for any longer than a few hours a year.

Oh yes 'more music variety' was what I meant! It's just been too long since I've heard them use that phrase (maybe they had to drop it due to it being false advertising :P)

They'd always play their little tagline saying 'more music variety' in between songs from different decades so it was pretty obvious what they were trying to do. I don't get why they play such a limited catalogue even of old hits though, there has to be hundreds and hundreds of Heart appropriate older songs but it's always the same few dozen at most they play.

Yes, now we get treated to 'turn up the feel good' every couple of minutes instead.

Exactly this! I don't dislike most of the songs on there but I just get so bored of them being played over and over again. I think there are so many more songs of the type that would be suitable for Heart which they could be playing as well!

This is their current top 30:

Whilst I completely agree that Heart's playlist is boring and predictable, that is why they are so successful. Most people who listen to Heart are not real music fans like us, happy to hear new songs. If they hear two songs in a row they either don't know or don't like they're going to switch stations.

Remember every song is "tested" regularly with a panel of listeners. A song could be a really big hit but if say, 25% of their listeners say they don't know or don't like a song, it's not getting played. That's why you end up with very safe big hits that everyone knows and likes.

Difficult to defend waiting 9 months to playlist Ava Max though.

lets face it Heart plays established hits no matter what their marketing try to push. As Acerben says they want listeners to know what they hear so they don't turn over so the risks they take with tracks are minimal, hence Ava being added nearly a year after release.

They seem to have playlisted Never Really Over too
You’re right, missed that one!

Both songs on ACR, and could certainly have done with the Heart support 8 weeks ago when they were struggling to stay/go top 10!

It's funny to think Heart has more listeners than Capital, it has a huge effect on iTunes with new songs sometimes, I wish they weren't so slow.

Going to post a regular update of the Heart playlist tracked by myself. They usually pick new stuff up on a Friday but it can be other days too, so...

I'm surprised Heart hasn't added Lewis Capaldi's Bruises to their playlist because Capital has added it recently.

They're probably waiting for another pointless remix to take the emotion out of it so they can replace the one for Someone You Loved.
