Interesting that Capital is completely ignoring the new sigma track.

Gotta feeling they're blacklisting Ella Henderson, they didn't playlist her previous single either.

Hmmm.

Capital's new additions:

Afrojack feat. Mike Taylor - SummerThing!

Sigma feat. Ella Henderson - Glitterball

I was sort of hoping that Capital would continue to ignore 'Glitterball', just to witness Mirror Man's (ahem, MyBvy) inevitable meltdown. Nah, in all seriousness, I'm glad it's been added - their best effort since 'Nobody To Love' imo.
Krept & Konan must be on the Capital playlist - I've seen the video on their TV channel and even heard it on Capital radio at work!
Madcon is also on the new capital playlist with Demi Lovato and the Natalie/ Fetty song. I don't know if they've update later - but it should confirm that. They are snubbing on air releases for be time being it seems.

So pleased that Demi is playlisted by Capital! :cheer:

Strange they haven't added Calvin or 5 Seconds of Summer if they are the only new additions, like you say they are both On Air/On Sale too and Capital are usually more on it with On Air/On Sale that Radio 1 so that's unusual.

No Selena?

Yeah, Capital do this deliberately because they see downloads and streams as their competition, so they like to play songs that you can't download or stream. This is part of the reason why labels don't do OAOS. Everyone blames labels for being obsessed with chart positions but it's radio networks who are the problem.

Capital like to play songs you can't download or stream?! Seriously? It's a rarity I ever hear anything that hasn't been released on Capital, they're one of the worst for it!

I find this hard to believe. Held-back releases, as a dominant strategy, is pretty much exclusive to the UK, and Capital doesn't really behave any differently to commercial radio in other countries. Plenty of songs don't even get added to Capital's playlist until they're top 10 on iTunes.

From the website so there may be some inaccuracies.

I have word that some 'arrangements' have been made and that Calvin Harris is now not only on Capital's playlist but is on their Superhits playlist, which means plays every hour. (same for Weeknd) Expect HUGE gains for two two this week with Radio 1 A list in full swing, too.
