January 29, 201610 yr Author What happens on impact date Joseph? The impact date is essentially when the song's airplay will peak and it should be impacting the chart! A song is typically added to Radio 1 3-4 weeks before its impact date so it can rise up the list to get maximum impact that week ^_^

January 29, 201610 yr Capital are notorious for playlisting songs straight away despite impact week being weeks and weeks away, then they'll play the song a few times in the first week and then just stop. They'll continue playing the song if it takes off but if it doesn't take off as quickly as they'd like it to (usually because impact date is still a week or two away) they'll never play it again during prime time but leave it on the playlist for the odd play or two at night. I fear 'More and More' could be another example of this.
