As promised recently, we will have a rate for this pop icon of the 21st Century, Kesha (formerly stylised Ke$ha).

The rate is for her notable singles and features up until around 2018 which is an extended length of time that we discussed for her. We are not including her current era or any other hits from the last 6 years due to this being a Throwback forum.

Please rate the following singles using the standard rate scoring system, you are allowed to assign a score next to each track, and if desired, you may assign one -1 and one +11 in total, but this is optional.

Eligible Singles

xx Right Round (with Flo Rida)

xx TiK ToK

xx Blah Blah Blah (with 3OH!3)

xx Dirty Picture (with Taio Cruz)

xx My First Kiss (with 3OH!3)

xx Your Love Is My Drug

xx Take It Off

xx We R Who We R

xx Blow

xx Die Young

xx C'Mon

xx Crazy Kids (with will.i.am)

xx Timber (with Pitbull)

xx True Colours (with Zedd)

xx Praying

xx This Is Me

xx Woman (with The Dap-Kings Horns)

xx Good Old Days (with Macklemore)

Spotify Playlist

The Kesha rate will remain open until Friday 23rd August 2024 at 23:59 GMT where scores will be added up for the participants.

Enjoy some tasteful music! :cheer:

Will need to take the time to listen to the playlist and reacquaint myself with some of her songs. There’s one or two I don’t actually recall ever hearing.

For my own personal standings, I wish this celebrated her whole career and not just the songs chosen here because of the dates they were released. It feels incomplete and misses out even some of the songs that her fans love from these eras chosen

Being such a die-hard Kesha fan, this doesn't do her music justice :(

But I hope those taking part enjoy delving into some of her past moments~

And Wikipedia seems to think otherwise for some reason but Learn to Let Go was 100% a single here, fairly sure it got radio support as the follow-up to Praying!

In this case, my personal suggestion would be to have a more complete rate arranged in The Music Lounge to celebrate her whole career. It was put here because the mods of this forum were discussing future ideas and Kesha's name came up, it was in fact myself who suggested she should have a rate, but it was intended for this forum, but if it's deemed to be better somewhere else and organised by a die-hard fan such as yourself Bal, then I can't see it being an issue.

I'll wait and see what my fellow mods think in the morning.

Also thanks Joseph, I had been in conversation with my team about what songs we should use but in the end just looked at Wikipedia.

I think perhaps this would've made more sense as a Music Lounge activity - Kesha's borderline for this forum as it is anyway! Maybe an Animal/Cannibal rate would make more sense in here?

(not to knock the idea you guys had or anything, just thinking that if a Kesha rate is worth doing then we may as well do it properly!)

11 Your Love Is My Drug

I will close the thread and invite someone else to host the rate in the Music Lounge.
