On and On and On is definitely no Run For The Hills, I would love Klara to finally get her shot at Eurovision but I don’t think this is the song. Funniest Thing is decent but it feels like it’s missing something, like it needs a revamp which a Melfest song shouldn’t

  • Adding onto what's been said already, I think there's a sliding scale between "novelty" and "camp" where at one end you've got those late 00s entries where people had stopped caring/treated the whole

  • Yeah I agree and at the core of it, Eurovision should be fun! Imagine if it was all songs like Revolution or just a load of ballads, obviously some of the ballads are great, there’s some great pop son

  • I don’t understand such a polarising response to this song. It’s always been a popularity contest and a SHOW where countries chase trends and try to one up the other. Nothing changed, it just became a

Loving Klara's song (as would be expected) but Erik is in a very strong second for me. Hopefully they're the two direct qualifiers tomorrow.

Kaliffa was second in the audience poll last night, basically neck and neck with Klara and way ahead of Erik in third.

Nomi Tales going straight out will be a bit annoying for me but she will probably be third or fourth I guess so could go either way.

Ehhh, annoying that Nomi Tales went straight out, I really like that and think it's a strong grower too.

Surprised that Erik was the first DTF, it's decent enough but definitely not wowing me. But I'm happy for him to get a solo finalist 16 (!) years after he was there with EMD.

Glad Klara got the second spot though anyway, although the fact it wasn't the first qualifier suggests it won't be contending.

We definitely don't have the winner yet in these four finalists so far. Hush Hush probably has more chance than all of them

Very glad Klara made it through, though she should've been the first finalist :( Erik's song was decent though he felt a little arrogant to me idk. Pleasant track x

Nomi Tales definitely deserved to get through, brilliant track, loved it by the first chorus! Kaliffa's track was quite fun though I guess. Wasn't big on the other two so no losses there.

Gutted Klara didn’t win the heat and that Nomi is out!!! Hopefully they can clean up Klara’s camera angles to give her a chance.

I've had Klara's song on repeat, definitely the song to beat so far for me.

Although it reallly reminds me of Alone by Alan Walker in various ways (others have compared the piano bit to When Love Takes Over).

Agreed, Klara No.1 on Spotify and Erik No.4.

They do occasionally go mad for a slower song or mid-tempo (Anna Bergendahl/Anders Bagge) so Erik could do well in the final.

My heat 2 ratings:

On and On and On (6/10)

Show Me What Love Is (6/10)

Funniest Thing (6/10)

Salute (6/10)

Don Juan (5/10)

The Heart of a Swedish Cowboy (5/10)

this is such a mid heat oops :kink:

Teardrops has a real Tusse vibe to it, so I wasn't surprised to look at the credits and see him listed. Don't Sweden typically love this sort of anthemic 'fist in the air' pop, or was it more Tusse that they loved rather than Voices?

I didn't think much of Rädda Mig, quite an annoying whistle hook, last place on lock for that I'd imagine.

Life Again is more my cup of tea than Annika's entry last year, it's kind of Little Mix 2015-esque which I didn't expect. Not sure it will make the final though this time.

Dolly Style is great, it's like Wiktoria on speed but also a perfect sequel to previous entries from them, it's surely got the kids vote sewn up.

Malou Prytz is getting all the online hype - it's a decent pop song and I'm sure will do well, very well produced and quite unexpected as her previous entries were more low key (I still really like I Do Me).

Greczula is an interesting style for Melodifestivalen, some Queen/Adam Lambert/The Greatest Showman vibes to it. Hard to tell how this will do, I expected it to be a bigger sounding song as he was second in the odds at one point. Could see the older voters enjoying it though so it could go further.

No idea what to predict this week, Björn sounds a complete no-hoper but I could make a case for all five of the others progressing. Keeping my fingers crossed for Dolly Style though.

I was in Göteborg last weekend, got pretty good seats, right where the artists walked from green room to the small stage. Got an high five from Klara after the show<3

Agreed that this week feels hard to predict. I sadly don't really expect Dolly Style to get anywhere even though it's my fave, I think it'll only do well with the youngsters and get tanked by the older age groups.

Life Again got stuck in my head after a couple of listens, really liking that one and I'd guess most likely to go direkt as Annika has the familiarity of taking part last year, and having a better entry this time.

I wouldn't be surprised if people end up really disappointed with Malou's result. It's better than Bananas, but I'm not totally feeling the hype.

I was thinking the same about Malou, it’s being trumpeted in some places online as the second coming but I’m not sure I completely get the hype. It feels a bit style over substance to me and I do prefer Dolly Style. Also not quite sure she has that commanding stage presence and charisma that Klara has, in terms of uptempo female pop?

I think it could be Greczula or Annika direkt, with the other getting the second spot and Malou and Dolly Style fighting for second chance but I can’t completely rule out Angelino, as it’s very typically Sweden.

24k Gold screams “shock” 5th to me, decent song but I agree it’s just not fully there as a whole package. Every time Malou competes it feels like she’s almost there and you think next time she’ll smash it but yet again she comes back still just on the cusp.

Oops at Malou, can't say it was that surprising, felt like the track was bigger than her.

Not at all surprised at the finalists, Greczula brought something fresh and is a very charismatic performer, Annika's is one of those kind of anthemic songs they love in Sweden. Good for Dolly Style to get a second chance.

I actually thought Angelino's song and performance was pretty good and deserved better.

Nice to see Lex's last BJSC entry get a live performance, and the great Sanna Nielsen medley <3
