Looks like it samples or covers this:

NO WAY! It's literally just a cover with a couple of lyrics added!

Oh No Perrie :( Whilst it's sounding like her best it's a shame she's not had much involvement given her 10 career in the industry.

So the video will be a mix of West Side Story and Grease, very 70s-inspired song also. Definitely more intrigued now but some of her comments in the interview don’t come off as authentic:

“My idea of hell is someone getting my album being like, ‘Oh, have you heard her album? Every track sounds the same.’ I do not want that. That bores me. I want people to feel ‘I wanna be picked up,’ ‘I wanna dance,’ then ‘I wanna cry,’ and then ‘I wanna take you back up again.’ I think as far as genres go, there are influences of pop, a little bit of rock, a hint of punk, and a bit of country. I love it so much because it takes you on a journey. It’s not just mediocre whatever.”

After calling up Ed Sheeran for her first single and then releasing the underwhelming Tears. Also pretty sure Jade said the same thing previously. That said, if the final product is good then I’ll eat my words.

I mean, that interview did make it sound like there was still an album planned, but I thought it was strange that she mentioned she had a deadline for when she'd have to stop making tweaks to it. Surely, being on the third single means the deadline should've already come and gone?

I think she means if there was a deadline she would struggle to make all the tweaks, I think she's saying there is no current set date.

That is what I got from that interview.

I love Perrie but I have to echo some of the comments above. I'm reaaallly hoping this is a banger.

I've ordered the physicals to support her either way.

It’s better and the chorus is catchy but it’s got such a weird structure.

The lyrics are pretty.. basic and clunky. There's no real flow to it? I definitely like it more than 'Tears', but it's going to need some getting used to. It's clunky and pretty messy and I don't know if it's to it's favour or not.

It's VERY catchy though and I don't dislike it! I just need to get used to the structure of it I think.

HER VOCALS THOUGH *.*

I've just gone to listen to it again because the hook is INSANE! It's INGRAINED into my head after just two plays and I wanna listen again, but my link is now broken </3

First time listen:

I'm OBSESSED with the chorus but I agree there is like no flow, it feels random? It also could have been a lot shorter. A bit messy?

Much better than Tears and can see this growing on me a lot as I am in love with the chorus.

I love all the adlibs and the last half of the song.

UPDATE: I'm loving it, song grows on you so much!

Just listened, definitely her best to date. It’s still in the realm of mediocre for me (lyrically at least) but hoping the video can connect it more.

Just listened.

It’s very messy! The insanely catchy chorus almost gets lost when it seems to start midway through a verse.

I can’t tell if it’s intentionally this messy or if going back into the studio to add stronger vocals / layered adlibs etc has affected the flow of the whole song.

I still stand by the fact it’s her best for me so far BUT I was expecting so much more from her (The B side sounds incredible and meaningful so I’m excited to hear that)

I think they’ve played it way too safe with every release.

Previous New Music Friday positions:

'Forget About Us' was #3

'Tears' was #8

So this is her best NMF so far!

I'm actually really liking the Extended version! It doesn't feel as cluttered and actually gives breathing space!
