Sounds like a racist attack as the youths were white and had targeted him before, throwing stones and going to his house.

EDIT. Four now released with no further action but a 14 year-old remains in custody after police obtained an extension to midnight. PM confirms a kick to the neck directly caused his death so it'll be a murder charge.

Really another failure of the police, this guy complained of things previously and it seems very little was done to improve the situation. These kind of places are filled with under 18’s hanging around with nothing to do but cause problems and while this is obviously an extreme case if he only got injured we’d probably never about it, so it’s more on the police and other such type of people as they too often are reactive than pro-active even when the warning signs are there for awhile.

That is awful. I really don’t know what should happen moving forwards as the police seem to have very little power or authority when it comes to teenagers and their behaviour. I used to work in a pru school and we would have the police coming in constantly due to things the children had done, but there was nothing that ever happened and the behaviour and incidents just continued, not just outside of school but to staff in school too. I was bitten, kicked, punched, had chairs thrown at my head and was even stabbed with scissors but these children were still allowed out in society.

 

I left there a few years ago (thankfully) but I have wondered how on earth we tackle the issue ever since.

Bhim Kohli: Boy and girl sentenced for killing dog walker...

A 15-year-old boy and a 13-year-old girl were both found guilty of Bhim Kohli's manslaughter.

The 14 yr old boy who killed him got 7 years in custody which will no doubt be 4 maximum and the 12 yr old girl who encouraged it and filmed it got a youth rehabilitation order of three years and made subject to a six-month curfew.

He was also racially abused during the attack.

Though it seems this was a big failure if the police as this was a regular occurrence and they never did anything. Those sentences are not really justice for the family either

Utterly despicable, does anyone think those two are going to grow up to be fine standing citizens? Chuck them in prison and throw away the key.

This is what the rise of the far right is fostering, I dread to think the environment these kids have grown up in to be this hateful and racist.
