10. Did It Again

Kicking off the top 10 is Did It Again, Impossible Princess's second single. I was 9 years old when this was released in 1997 and it was around the same time I was really starting to get into music properly. I had barely heard of Kylie Minogue and remember think for a good couple of weeks at least that this was a single by a girl band, until my sister set me straight. (Oh I was young and stupid) It may not be Kylie's best single but it'll always have a place in my affections as the song that properly introduced me to Kylie Minogue. At the time I remember liking it quite a bit and over the past 27 years that's obviously stuck with me. If I'm putting on random Kylie songs it's often one I'll go to first.

9. I Should Be So Lucky

The other song in this section is Kylie's international breakthrough hit I Should Be So Lucky. I had no idea this was released after Locomotion outside of Australia until just recently. For me this is one of those classic late 80's pop hits that get stuck in your head and have you singing it for days. I was born just a few months after this was released so I have no recollections of this what so ever. I'm must've heard it here and there around the 90's though as when I saw the video for the first time around 2000 it sounded somewhat familiar and I recognised the chorus. The song itself is one I found myself enjoying a lot more than I expected to, I initially thought it might be a little bit grating but I was completely wrong on that one.

10. Did It Again Another song i like but i dont revisit it nearly as much as other singles or songs from IP, my least fave of the 3 IP singles, but the video is excellent

8. What Do I Have To Do?

Coming in at a very respectable #8 is the third single from Kylie's third album. What Do I Have To Do? is one that really clicked with me over the last three or so months. I started listening to it casually around the time Golden was released n 2018 and my love for it has only grown for it since then. I love the style and the early 90's sounds of it and it's one I think I'll find myself going back to fairly regularly in the future too. I did have this initially in my top 5, but it was pushed out later by three of the songs which are yet to come.

7. Better The Devil You Know

My introduction to the #7 on my list wasn't actually as a Kylie Minogue single. I first heard the early 90's pop classic Better The Devil You Know in 1999 when Steps released it as a double a with their single Say You'll Be Mine. As mentioned I wasn't aware it was a cover at the time but I quickly learned after release that it was in fact a cover of the Kylie Minogue song from much earlier in the decade. It was then around 2000 that I started to notice Kylie's original version of Better The Devil You Know on radio and television. For a couple of years I did actually prefer the Steps version as this, as for me it was the one I first heard and in a way the one I first connected with. I've since shifted now and whilst I don't mind Steps version I do much prefer Kylie's version.

Two all-time greats

Love them both.

Placing my tiptop 10 has been so hard, any could realistically be #1.

Better the devil you know and what do I have to do are 2 of kylies very best songs I adore both but what do I have to do is a top 2 for me with devil a safe top 5.

6. Never Too Late

Just missing out on the top 5 is Never Too Late. From the moment I did my Enjoy Yourself listen through in January I instantly loved Never Too Late. Released as the albums third single it would reach #4 in the UK, but only manage to peak at #14 in Australia. This was another one that I had in early consideration for my top 5 I loved it that much, but in the end I just couldn't have it displace any of the remaining songs. There was something weirdly familiar with this song when I first heard it, like I'd heard it before even though I don't think I had. Then it hit me it was the PWL production that felt totally like a Steps song, I could totally see this being a song Steps would've covered and had it feature on one of their first two albums. It seems like it suits them perfectly. This isn't about a Steps cover version that doesn't even exist though, it's about my 6th favourite Kylie Minogue single. I must admit though part of me feels I have this a little to high looking back at some of the songs that placed lower than this and whilst I still really like it I can see it making its way out of my top 10 over time, but for now here it is at #6.

5. Put Yourself In My Place

Kicking off my top 5 is the second single from Kyle's 1994 album Kylie Minogue, Put Yourself In My Place. The last time a single from this album featured was back at #60 with Where Is The Feeling?, which goes to show how much I love the other two singles from this album. I can't quite describe what it is I love about this song but it just connects with me in a way I wasn't anticipating. I remember first coming across this properly in 2018 and thinking wow isn't this great! Which I wasn't expecting to be honest. The chorus, the melody, the lyrics, I love everything about this song. It's since gone on to be of my most played Kylie Minogue songs of the past few years and I can see it continuing that way into the future.

So with 4 singles to go here's the albums which have singles left:

Kylie Minogue - 1

Impossible Princess - 1

Light Years - 1

Fever - 1

Put yourself in my place is a beautiful track and kylies vocals are fantastic on it, shame it missed out on going top 10 at the time, it wouldn't be in my own top 10 Kylie songs but I do like it.

Never too late I'm a big fan of it in every way and another track I'd like to see her revisit more on tours and I also love the artwork for the single
