The year is 2015. Katy Perry returns from a long hiatus, with oodles of hype, only to release Rise, a standalone flop, for the Olympics. Well, it flopped and zapped away all hype. By the time she returned with the proper first single, Rise had already used up all first single hype. What happened next was, she made history by being the first person to do a Witness.

Is Die with a Smile, a very, very, very boring Bruno Mars ballad, doing rhe same to LG7? Has it zapped away all first single hype, throwing it all away on this random, standalone sang? Or will the situation be different this time around?

Both songs are very tepid and boring, and both had just an okay chart presence, but nothing amazing. However, GaGa is in a duet. Perhaps people will see this as a Bruno song and not a GaGa song, which will save the lead from doing a Witness with 0 hype?

Die with a Smile Has been #1 on the global Spotify chart for 23 days, I don’t see how it could do much better

Firstly I loved rise even though it flopped.

Secondly Die With A Smile is likely to be one of the biggest songs this year worldwide. UK it's still a hit just not a big one at the moment, but how you can compare the two is crazy. Gaga has been above Katys level throughout her career apart from the horrendous album thst was suppose to be art but rightly flopped x

Yes, it's an unmitigated disaster and the forthcoming album has already tanked. She'll be dropped by the end of the year.

There, I've written your post for you :)

My head hurt reading this 15 times trying to work out what any of this meant

Meekul let's get you back inside, it's been a long day x

yeah 'Rise's peak of #25 is totally comparable to 'Die With A Smile' being a multi-week top 10 hit lol

Whoops! It's just the snags are so similar, it's easy to mix them up!
