'Drag Me Down' was number one the week of my 18th birthday and I have some good memories dancing to this during my first few club experiences.

'What Do You Mean' by Justin Bieber was released soon after and I feel like both these songs saw a change around in people's perceptions of both artists. This felt like a very "cool" song.

Drag Me Down  Still sounds fresh in 2024

A surprise release in summer 2015, I remember it so vividly! I was on holiday and woke up a little earlier than I wanted to, checked my phone, saw this had been released and any hopes of going back to sleep were quickly abandoned  Their first single as a four piece and it hit exactly the right spot, Drag Me Down is one of my top favourites  their final #1! but I remember it being so happy it made it there

Yes I forgot it being a surprise release! I think that explains why it dropped quite quickly before having really good stability.

Had to step out for a bit but Story Of My Life and Night Changes are highlights of their later eras, very effective pieces of songwriting both.

'Perfect' is a gorgeous slice of 80s synth, feels like a companion piece to 'Style' by Taylor Swift. One of my very faves!

I was not prepared for that "hotel room" lyric.

Perfect was really big at the time but doesn't feel as well remembered nowadays, I really like it though, heard it for the first time in a few years this morning and it sounds great
Does anyone know why the Four era only had two singles? It deserved more. Their best album for me! Fireproof deserved the single treatment, it's always had that melancholic sound and today it's hit even more

I would have chosen What A Feeling over this a single

I imagine Zayn's departure in March 2015 put a spanner in any plans they may have had! :(

I think because Zayn left the band, they just thought it better to start a fresh with a new album.

Their last song and a stunning one
Their last single! It definitely feels like a fitting last song although it wasn't ever a favourite of mine. I was a little "meh" at it becoming one of their very best sellers when I thought there was a lot of other songs more deserving.

Infinity was lined up to be single 3, and both Infinity and History had a performance on The X Factor final in 2015 (to celebrate their time together and bring it to a close) - History took off majorly and the single was switched! The right decision, a fantastic final single for them, the right choice for sure.

Really poignant now too, the whole song in particular but "we can live forever" being the final line of their final single together :(

Thanks all for taking part, was lovely to relisten to all of their hits in one go, what an incredible run of singles  crazy to think we won't ever get all five of them for a reunion tour one day :(

'History' is a fair song to end off with, nice lyrics overall.

Thanks for organising this Joseph.

Joseph you're bringing up so many points that I had totally forgotten! I can't remember if I ever heard 'Infinity' (I guess I must have because I listened to the chart show back then) but I do recall it being lined up as the next single.

Yes this was a great listen through
