Thrilled that a debut album has been announced now! I've enjoyed 'Warplane' and especially 'Jacked' from this project

Jacked has been my favourite track for years but I have to admit I've found Warplane to be the first thing she's done that I find underwhelming

MOTHER

The last two singles have definitely had a much mellower approach compared to the earlier releases. Jacked sounds like it may be different to the rest of the album and it's the only track on there she was playing live a few years back.

 

I'm hopeful that she hasn't changed her sound too much as I love the rawer stuff

The outro of 'Extraordinary Wings' started to hook me in but the whole song didn't blow me away on first listen, so I hope it's a grower.

 

Revisited 'Jacked' while putting together an EOY countdown for 2024 and it remains excellent, hoping for more of that ilk elsewhere on the album too

Having spent a bit of time with the album now, I'm warming to it, if still a little underwhelmed. It's definitely not as interesting as her earlier work and suggests she's going in a more mainstream direction on the whole but it's still better than a lot of other similarly styled acts right now and I'm looking forward to seeing her live again soon.

 

I do feel the album is a little light on tracks, with only 8 actual songs and at around 35 minutes long, it feels a bit more like an EP than a fully realised album.

I think I agree about it being underwhelming, not something I'll be in a rush to keep listening to. It feels like if I ranked all of her songs from best to worst it would look very similar to a list in chronological release order.
