  • Another week in top ten

  • "Die With A Smile" has now accumulated over 1 million units in the UK this year (1,005,000). Total units now at 1,640,000. Should go 3x Platinum early next year.

And with that... Lady Gaga becomes the first woman in history to have a song spend 50 weeks in the top 10 on the Hot 100.

Omg I was looking at it from the bottom and was about to post that it failed to chart again lol

One of the most pointless resets ever but we'll take it.

How many weeks will it have charting now?

It's now in its 64th charting week.

So happy to see it back! I don’t think I’ll ever really tire of this song it’s one of the best examples of two icons coming together and it just working 🥰. In the age of faceless collabs these days and the digital world where the artists don’t even meet this just feels timeless and classic!

I hope it gets a few more weeks top 40 before Bruno’s album bomb but even then could this end up still racking up more weeks after that like it’s never went anywhere globally 😅

Fun fact: This is its first time in the top 40 since the week of 30/05/2025 - 05/06/2025.

Wow! It’s been huge in the UK. Robbed of a week at #1 but I think the impacts undeniable.

This is Bruno and Gaga’s third longest runner on the UK singles top 100 so far. It needs two more weeks to tie with Just The Way You Are to be his joint second (and three to overtake). Uptown Funk is his longest runner on 76 weeks. Shallow is still way ahead for Gaga here with 116 weeks top. 100, then Poker face has 84 (but in terms of just the top 40 Die With A Smile is actually on more weeks than both of those!).

I discussed this "underperforming" in the UK compared to other markets in the chart forum, and I DO find it interesting that Shallow for instance was way bigger in the UK than this will ever be, considering how huge smash this has been globally. Regarding Bruno, I think him releasing music so sparsely kind of hinders his power as a commercial juggernaut, but basically everything he has put out has been successful to some extent (except that Sexyy Red collaboration lol)

Sour Candy (2026): Die With A Smile is a gigantic flop almost made Lady bankrupt. It failed to make a dent on the charts and almost killed their careers. #diewithaflop 😞

I think the point that Sour Candy was making was more 2024 seen some gigantic hits and songs like Espresso, BIRDS OF A FEATHER and Beautiful Things for example (just within the UK) felt bigger?

Shallow UK wise does feel bigger than Die With A Smile but both were / are massive UK hits though!

Exactly! This spent only SIX weeks in top 5, BT for instance NINETEEN.

This is up to #8 on global Spotify! And Bruno's new single also did better on its second Friday than on release date! I think his tour announcement has played a big role there.
