November 21, 2024Nov 21 Half the Russian military technology since the fall of the USSR is using components either bought or stolen via via forms of espionage So does that mean that NATO is fighting NATO in a non-NATO state? What about in Israel? Did NATO invade Gaza and Lebanon there? Is NATO now at war with Lebanon because Israel buys weapons from The US and Germany? Err, yes many in the Middle East would say that America helps and is biased in the conflict, I think that’s the first thing you learn about this conflict. Many US weapons kill and maim woman and children in Gaza over the last year hence why there’s huge protest from the left in our countries. Edited November 21, 2024Nov 21 by Steve201
November 21, 2024Nov 21 I don’t think you quite comprehend how dangerous this stuff is. The UK is almost at war with Russia. They are panicking because they know Trump won and their original plan is over. Now they authorised using landmines that have been long banned. It’s desperate. It’s like the final throw of the dice and it’s just a signal they’re losing in afraid to tell you. Hopefully calmer heads prevail. Or the more likely probability is both sides know the end of the war is likely happening in the near future, so both sides are showing their hand ready for any negotiations to begin. The implications of Russia getting exactly what they want are terrible. So the West need to show their hand too before any negotiations begin.
November 21, 2024Nov 21 He just cheer leads from the side and calls anyone with a different opinion than him a Russian bot while at the same time he spouts out western neo conservative propaganda. And yet you just parrot Russian nonsense...

People talk up Russia's game as unpredictable but they're really a pretty predictable force in a geopolitical sense, showing hands of strength to intimidate the weaker states around them into giving them what they want. China's actually the more canny political adversary but we're already miles off topic so I'll spare that diversion. That supposed ICBM launch today actually shows Russia's hand painfully, they want people to think that they'll snap but in reality they'd have had to inform the West of their intention ahead of time to avoid retaliation, hence this round of escalation is likely done for now. But it's all aimed at putting themselves in a strong position so that when the new Trump administration tries to end the war, Russia can say that they control the Donbass and aren't retreating from their claims, they have the ability to destroy Ukraine but will let it go with grace as long as Ukraine cedes the four provinces they claim. Or something along those lines. Anyway, on topics actually related directly to the Trump administration I note with pleasure that Congress' creepy uncle Matt Gaetz has withdrawn himself from consideration for Attorney-General. Who's the most prominent Trump loyalist not already tipped for a cabinet position?

Or something along those lines. That's exactly how I see it too Iz. Who wins with a full scale war? Certainly not Russia. Who wins if Russia fire a nuke on a NATO state? Not Russia again. This entire facade is about Russia showing their hand. We know Trump is going to want to solve the war in 2025, which I think he will do through a land treaty and Ukraine know Trump will likely pull funding, so before that happens, they need to show their hand to Russia too by battering their infastructure. If Russia wanted the war to escalate, I think it would have happened long before now. In my opinion, introducting North Korean troops is a sign Russia are struggling. All sides will spin it as they've won, but in reality nobody's really won.

November 22, 2024Nov 22 Well Gaetz was a strange pick he has some positive elements but AG seemed way too big for him and he still has sketchy allegations hanging over him. Some say it was a pick designed to make RFK JR & Tulsi seem more palatable which might make sense

Some say it was a pick designed to make RFK JR & Tulsi seem more palatable which might make sense Would love to know what you consider to be positive elements from a man with allegations of trafficking underage prostitutes, links with Holocaust deniers, sharing inappropriate images in Congress, climate denalism, conspiracism over Jan 6, conspiracism over The Great Replacement, statements on his desire to 'hunting down' those he considers 'antifa', conspiracism over COVID-19, the only member of the House to vote against a Human Trafficking bill, and voting against LGBT and equality rights whenever he got the chance.

That stuff is a bit strange I’m not sure what the truth is there I find it hard to believe he’d be stupid enough to truly be involved with sex trafficking if he is obviously that’s the end. What I think is good is he is very much a forward thinker on drug issues probably because he’s half the age of some of his peers he’s very big on punishing animal cruelty and stuff like this as well. Has a much more fresher outlook than the walking dead republicans Some out there agree too! https://unherd.com/newsroom/the-left-should...torney-general/ @1856800981339488608 Edited November 22, 2024Nov 22 by Liam sota
November 25, 2024Nov 25 If Trump tries to get rid of the 22nd Amendment to seek a third term , hope he realises that could let Obama stand too to challenge him and probably win. A lot of people on the US forums doubt that he'll complete his new term and Vance will be President before 2028.
November 26, 2024Nov 26 From BBC News, A federal judge has dismissed a major case against Donald Trump that alleged he illegally sought to overturn the 2020 election. Jack Smith, the special prosecutor who brought the criminal case against Trump, had asked to have the charges dropped, citing a Justice Department policy that bans the prosecution of a sitting president. Judge Tanya Chutkan dismissed the case "without prejudice", meaning the charges could be refiled after Trump finishes his second term. Smith has also asked to have his case charging Trump with improperly storing classified documents dismissed. Trump had pleaded not guilty in both cases. “It has long been the position of the Department of Justice that the United States Constitution forbids the federal indictment and subsequent criminal prosecution of a sitting President,” Smith wrote in a filing in the election case. “This outcome is not based on the merits or strength of the case against the defendant,” Smith added in the six-page filing. After leaving office, Trump crossed into unprecedented legal territory for a former president, becoming the first to face a criminal trial and later conviction, in a case tied to a payment made to adult-film actress Stormy Daniels. At the beginning of the year, he faced nearly 100 criminal charges connected to the two federal cases and others. Then, the Supreme Court ruled this summer that he could not be prosecuted for "official acts" taken as president, and Trump went on to win the election a few months later. Now almost all those charges have been dropped, with a Georgia state prosecution currently on pause.
November 26, 2024Nov 26 Perhaps Biden should use the same policy and annul the result of the election. He can then step down and allow Kamala Harris to be president for the next four and a bit years.
November 28, 2024Nov 28 Perhaps Biden should use the same policy and annul the result of the election. He can then step down and allow Kamala Harris to be president for the next four and a bit years. The Supreme Court installed by Trump has ruled that a sitting President can't be prosecuted for official acts while in office. I suggest Biden do as much as possible to make life difficult for Trump's insane plans. It's not as if Biden's got a future career to worry about. The Democrats can easily distance them from whatever he does just like the Republicans have for their democracy-overturning, corrupt, traitorous, sex-offending, tax dodging, dictator blow-jobbing, economy-destroying nutjob, anti-NATO wanna-be dictator..... I suggest Americans who voted Dem stock up on paper-handkerchiefs to hand out to anyone who voted Trump or who didn't bother to vote at all when they lose medicare, they get deported or prices go through the roof and they start whining. They should have "snowflake" printed on them, just to rub it in. In fact could someone start marketing online memes of Tissues For Trumpregretters? Great business opportunity!
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Joe Biden pardoned his son in what must be the most blatant misuse of a pardon I’ve ever seen. It seems some people are above the law. He repeated said he wouldn’t pardon him. Outright madness.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Author who cares? Like seriously, who cares about anything Biden does to protect his son as the last action of his now dead political career, when a president with form for pardoning his close business associates and campaign financiers is about to take office with a conservative Supreme Court ruling him above the law in advance to get him out of his own personal convicted felonies. I don't see any circumstance in which someone is maddened about Biden doing this while not being in with the Trump cult.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Joe Biden pardoned his son in what must be the most blatant misuse of a pardon I’ve ever seen. It seems some people are above the law. He repeated said he wouldn’t pardon him. Outright madness. How's the weather in Mowcow thid time of year??? It was a totsl feeding frenzy and a POLITICAL WITCH HUNT, with them weaponising the Trumo activist judges against him. It was natural to pardon him snd the right thing to do vs a polticised Trump judiciary in a country thst coulf very well stop being a democrqcy. Trump id a convixted felon btw. Republicsns cqnnot talk about law and order ever again. That is. Ever. Again. Sorry.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 This isn't new for presidents for one going back decades with Ford, Clinton and Trump himself, and we know very well that Trump will pardon not only himself but also several questionable figures and has already pardoned Charles Kushner whose crimes make for grim reading and intended him as sodding Ambassador to France, I don't know what to tell you if you think Hunter's done worse... When your opposition has the lowest moral standards you can have and can get away with it, what's the point in taking the high ground? Expose the hypocrisy and play them at their own game.
December 2, 2024Dec 2 Joe Biden pardoned his son in what must be the most blatant misuse of a pardon I’ve ever seen. It seems some people are above the law. He repeated said he wouldn’t pardon him. Outright madness. We're about to have a President who will pardon himself. I agree, it's not a great optic but at this stage, you can take the moral high ground or just join what everyone else is doing. Funny to see the MAGA crew losing their heads. Always knew they were a massive bunch of hypocrites
December 2, 2024Dec 2 While I think Biden’s decision is unwise, it is also understandable. Biden has suffered the loss of two sons so you can see what might have motivated this decision. But, no matter how invalid the comparison, it will lead to Republican whataboutery when Democrats criticise Trump’s long list of pardons.
