As the year draws to a close... what particular Ariana moments stand out to you the most from 2024?

The release of eternal sunshine was of course a huge moment! I felt excited for the sonic direction of it after 'yes, and?' teased a very different sound to positions. It turns out that the rest of the album didn't follow in that house direction at all but still offered up some gems. 'we can't be friends (wait for your love)' quickly became my favourite on the album <3 a gorgeous synth-pop single that thankfully did really well for Ari. I love the music video inspired by Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind too. The slower, emotional songs really got to me as 'imperfect for you' and 'i wish i hated you' turned out to be other big favourites, although the more bouncy 'supernatural' is a massive highlight as well - I really wanted the version featuring Troye to be pushed as a single. This is the first Ariana album to solely be written by her and she did a great job with it, probably within my top 3 albums of hers already.

 

Wicked was an incredible triumph for Ariana and everyone involved, too! I hadn't seen the stage show before but was familiar with a lot of the music - especially 'Defying Gravity'. Her vocals have never sounded better as Glinda and her comedic timing for the role was on point. I'm happy that she got to fulfil a dream role and that it's been so well-received, keeping my fingers crossed that she can be nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar.

 

Another highlight for me was Ariana jumping on the remix of 'Sympathy is a Knife' with Charli xcx! It was my favourite song from the original Brat so this was a very exciting team-up on paper. The transformation of the song wasn't as flawless as the original but still a great collab. Issa knife :music:

 

Overall, it was my favourite year to be an Ariana fan for a while! I can see why she's so proud of these projects.

'We Can't Be Friends' and the album itself bringing me back on board after a few less than stellar eras!
