March 18Mar 18 Has anyone else been watching this? I must admit I'm struggling a bit with this season, I think it is really missing Jennifer Coolidge and the light relief she brought to the stories. It all just feels really slow at the moment. I feel like the Jason Isaacs story could all be heading in a direction where someone is playing him, either from back home or from within his family. I love Aimee Lou Wood in everything I see her in but even she isn't managing to rescue this one for me yet, albeit she is my favourite character.
March 18Mar 18 Yeh, it also doesn’t help by the fact each episode is weekly and not all at once to binge!
March 18Mar 18 Author Oops I'm 2 episodes behind already. I know I need to catch up but this just isn't a gripping watch whatsoever
March 29Mar 29 I binged series 1 and 2 before watching this series "live" and I'm so glad I did. I've enjoyed all of the series so far; I haven't seen anything else like it. It's always difficult to know where it's going which makes it a confusing and uncomfortable watch but that's part of its charm and I find that gripping and engaging. My expectations for a big finale are high given the first episode set up something that seemed quite shocking. We'll see!
March 29Mar 29 Yeh agreed, every character could end up doing what happened in episode one which makes it fascinating!
March 30Mar 30 it's the most talk TV show...again (maybe just in my circle but still )Parker Posey is everything...her accent, her behavior, she's the meme of the season!!!
April 7Apr 7 Definitely my favourite season so far. WOW! That last episode nearly ended me. The family drama, the little brother and that drink, the British girl… 😭😭
May 8May 8 Thank God I've got to the end of this.My partner got me to watch S1 and 2 with him and, although slow, they were watchable.S3 was only good for the extended last episode and not worth the 7 episodes that led up to it.I ended up not liking any of the characters or caring about what happened to any of them either.
May 8May 8 oh love it, might even be my fav season, love all the characters especially the girl that used to be in Sex Educationand of course also Parker Possey, big fan of her since her indie days in the 80s and 90s films
May 8May 8 I forgot to comment when it was all over but I ended up thinking it was fine, but definitely not amazing.Parker Posey was indeed good and I definitely enjoyed her character, especially the way she kept forgetting where she was on holiday and presumably just thought all those Asian countries were the same place - absolutely nailed how I imagine many americans to be tbh 🤭However, the only two characters that I cared about both ended up dead urgh. It was a bit annoying how Rick's character arc basically came unstuck at the last minute and cost them both, but particularly annoying (yet totally inevitable given the show) that he took Chelsea with him.I also liked the three actresses that played the group of friends, but I thought their story just went nowhere. It was a shame as I found Carrie Coon in particular to be very likeable. Aside from that I didn't particularly care for any of them... especially the staff who I thought were very secondary this year, which was a shame as usually they are quite strong characters
May 8May 8 I thought this started out really well, and it had a much darker edge than the other seasons with the characters but it just sort of fizzled out to nothing...the family were just going through the motions by the end despite a lot of promise, apart from the daughter, it didn't feel like any of them had any sort of arc and their big reveal didn't even happen on screen, the three friends' storyline went nowhere and ended on a cliched note (and it's a shame as Carrie Coon, Parker Posey and Jason Isaacs (despite that shocking accent) were all great)Rick and Chelsea felt like the only ones with development and they ended up dead, I just feel there was so much potential they missed this season with all the characters. I did like Belinda mirroring Tanya's immediate rejection of her in the first season as soon as fortunes turn out better for them.Still a pretty good show overall, hope the rumours of a Scandinavian setting for S4 are true x
