Saved the day lol. Authoriarian right wingers like to run in and pretend they saved everything, but no. Government is beholden to Trump, like I said.

now with tiktok unbanned i do fear this will give a lot of boost to tr*mp

This stuff will be his undoing though, he thinks he will be popular with the Gen Z crowd, but Trump also does want China to overtake America. So he'll try and make some massive concessions and judging from Twitter, Musk wants Twitter to be in China (never gonna happen). A deal was always going to be struck, but this is the sort of issue where Trump will want to be popular but he also won't want to be seen as weak. When not sure if both can happen tbh.

It's still President-ELECT Trump, which is just emblematic of my problems with that statement. It's not so much a planned stunt per se, but clearly orchestrated to be like 'Biden banned TikTok and Trump unbanned it'. TikTok, just like all the other big tech companies is cosying up to Trump as the tools of control in the social media age.

It's still officially banned, though, for now.

That’s exactly my point. It’s a separate app although it looks identical and runs the same way etc it’s still an entirely separate app behind the the great firewall
