Navigating UK rap stardom is a tricky thing, but Aitch has it down pat. He’s chameleonic like the pop stars he collabs with, gritty like the grime artists that inspired him. Born Harrison Armstrong in Manchester in 1999, Aitch grew up removed from the London scene, where grime blossomed during his formative years, but soaked up the music from afar. When singer-songwriter Billie Eilish feels something new, the first thing she does is take out her phone and write it down. “You can write anything,” she told Apple Music in an interview for the Up Next series in 2018. “You can say the truth, and you cannot tell anyone that it’s the truth—you can just write it, and it’ll be yours.” Raised and homeschooled in Los Angeles by actor/musician parents, Eilish (born Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O’Connell in 2001) started writing songs when she was around 11, exploring a strain of melancholy, minimal, and slightly surrealistic pop influenced as much by Lana Del Rey as the radical honesty of rappers like Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt. Thankfully Lose Control was skipped, hate that with a passion.

Birds of a Feather is fine but it’s not really close to being up there with my favourite Billie songs! Unpopular opinion but Lunch and L'amour De Ma Vie deserved the success of BOAF/Wildflower!

Benson Boone (born in 2002 in Monroe, WA) bet on himself and hit big in the early 2020s. After leaving Brigham Young University to pursue his music career, the singer-songwriter tried out for American Idol, but he left the competition after making it past the talent show’s auditions.
