MAYHEM has stayed in the UK Top 10 for a 6th week now. It’s #10 this week but was #16 in Mondays midweek update so a rise since then! It’s now matched Chromatica weeks wise in the UK top ten albums!

In the era of most albums dropping out of the chart within a week or two — this is so impressive, especially two decades in

Mayhem will definitely have more staying power than Cowboy Carter, at least in the UK. The latter has got only 9 weeks in top 40.

#23 this week in the UK!!

Just 1 place down from the midweeks. But 8 weeks in and #23 I’ll take in this climate. A busy week this week too with many new releases ahead which next week will likely tumble down below MAYHEM!

Interested to see if Rio show makes an impact here but I think this week we should be around the same region chart wise if nothing else!

That's a shame but we can't really complain when most albums drop much lower than that on their second week 😝

That’s my thinking too!

We’ve also matched Joannes total weeks top 40 this week in the UK too! I had a look at her chart stats in the day as I was bored 😆. Joanne’s her lowest total weeks top 40 for a solo album with 8 weeks managed (although these weren’t consecutive as we had a X factor boost then ofc Super Bowl). But next week we should overtake Joannes weeks!

ARTPOP for comparison had 10, Chromatica 13, Born This Way, 38 and The Fame 134!

A Star Is Born had 52 before it moved to compilations!

Usually those sales are enough for top 20 but it was a busy week. However, this SHOULD be where Chappell, Charli and Billie currently are charting. It needs the third most popular song to do better than Disease/Garden of Eden currently is.

A new push is what’s needed! After Rio shows it’ll be interesting to see if anything gets a full push / a new music video comes etc.

There’s rumours but nothing concerete yet but I think after the Rio shows completed we may possibly get something or maybe at the latest after the Singapore shows? It wouldn’t even take much sales wise for it to go back top 10 but it just needs a little nudge I think!

It definitely feels time for a new big single moment.

Honestly I’m happy with any of the 3 main choices. I’m hoping we get 2 more singles for a fully rounded campaign I think this album deserves it.

From a planning perspective, she has definitely time to shoot something (if she hasn’t already) after Rio. The gap between that and before the commencement of her Singapore shows would allow it to happen.

Then I would imagine they would release something straight after she concludes Singapore, and before ‘Mayhem Ball Tour’ officially kicks off.

It's obviously streaming better than Chromatica so there's that! Just a busy week in the UK last week.

Elsewhere:

“MAYHEM” (#9) becomes Lady Gaga’s 3rd album with the most weeks (8) inside the French Top 10 Albums Chart (SNEP) surpassing “Born This Way” (7).

— The record sold 3,400 units (57,947 total).

Chromatica was #14 at this point (7 weeks in) so hope this will hold a bit better in the near future. Chromatica got 13 weeks in top 40 - that's the bare minimum for Mayhem I'd say.

Hopefully a lot of the new entries will fall down and she’ll creep back into the top 15-20. I do wonder if her performance in Brazil will have any viral effect over here? Highly doubt it
