Hah! The 'Special One' is in charge! ROW (ie me) is bound to win.

Sorry Robbie :P

From the Mail report it seems Robbie will be in the dugout as a coach and not actually playing. Am I reading that right?

That would make sense, I doubt he is going to risk injuring himself in the middle of a tour :o

As the nation prepares for a summer of World Cup football, Liverpool and Everton FC legends, Merseyside MPs and Liverpool comedian John Bishop come together to support Soccer Aid and urge the region’s football fans to back the campaign.

The well-anticipated sporting event will take place on Sunday June 8 at Old Trafford.

The two squads who will battle it out will represent England and The Rest of The World, and will consist of footballing legends, Hollywood A-listers and some of the UK’s most famous faces.

The event is the idea of Unicef UK and Robbie Williams – who will also take on the assistane managers role for the England side.

John Bishop, who will represent the England team and said he is excited about the prospect of having a week in the life of the professional footballer.

He said: “Soccer Aid gives you a window to the world. You get a week training, a week coaching so it’s good.

“The only downside is having Peter Reid as our coach. But having said that he’s probably the best player in training.

Former Liverpool and England International Phil Neal will also be at the event. He said: “Children need help and support all the way through their lives and the work Unicef does to help save children’s lives is crucial – together we can make a difference.”

Another former Liverpool and England International, Phil Thompson, said: “Soccer Aid is getting os big now for all the right reasons, all for children, it’s absolutely fantastic.

“With Robbie Williams at the forefront and having England versus the Rest of The World, it’s going to be a great combination of legends and celebrities getting involved in a great game.’
