Williams injures back jumping off roof

Published Friday, 09 March 2012

British singer Robbie Williams is nursing a back injury after jumping off the roof of his recording studio.

The Angels hitmaker admits the stunt has left him suffering and he is hoping the pain disappears before he takes on actor Michael Sheen in an all-star charity soccer match in May.

In a post on his website, Williams writes: "Soccer Aid's back on then! The list of people playing is very impressive... Hollywood-tastic...

"I'm watching you Michael Sheen! Your next role better be 'my left foot two' cos that's all you'll be able to play after I've finished with you...

"Having said that... I've got to fix my back. I jumped off the studio roof a week ago 'to see if I still could' evidently I can't... lesson learnt."

The singer will captain the England side at the Soccer Aid match in Manchester, north-west England on 27 May, while Welsh actor Sheen will oversee the Rest Of The World squad.

As if we weren't excited enough with the football heroes and celebrities set to take part in Soccer Aid 2012 already, a raft of Hollywood heavyweights will join the star-studded line up at Old Trafford’s hallowed turf to help raise money for UNICEF on 27th May.

Major international stars representing the Rest of the World squad for the very first time include US comic actor/ producer Will Ferrell and Scottish actor Gerard Butler. Returning to battle it out once again after last year's win is comic genius Mike Myers.

The A-listers will join Rest of the World team captain Michael Sheen, world class chef Gordon Ramsay and renowned Dutch goalie Edwin van der Sar with more high-profile names to be announced soon.

They will be taking on those lined up for England, including team captain Robbie Williams, presenter and actor, Jonny Wilkes, Marvin Humes and Aston Merrygold from JLS, pop star Olly Murs, presenter Ben Shephard, presenter and DJ Jamie Theakston and Manchester United legend Teddy Sheringham.

Gerard Butler is rather yummy :w00t:

Not when he's covered in blotchy fake tan <_<

I concur. Although his tan ain't the only 'fake' thing about him. That American accent anyone?

What happened to his Paisley accent?

There you go, I never knew he was Scottish  , he appeared on the Graham Norton show a few weeks back & his face was all blotchy like his tan has gone awfully wrong or he had that same skin condition as Michael Jackson
