Robbie's red card for cigs

ROBBIE Williams has given up smoking as he is so desperate to win Soccer Aid.

 

The star has been a 60-a-day man since he was a teenager.

 

Despite being teetotal and quitting drugs, the wicked weed is one habit he has not been able to kick.

 

But the prospect of his celeb England team taking on Gordon Ramsay’s Rest of the World squad for charity has finally made Robbie chuck away the cigs for good.

 

Corrie star Bradley Walsh, who is on Rob’s team, revealed: “We are calling him ‘No Cigs Robbie’.

 

“He’s taking this very, very seriously and will do anything it takes to win.

 

“And we will win. Gordon couldn’t even beat us at swearing, never mind footie.â€

 

Ex-Take That star Robbie, 32, once confessed he would like to quit smoking — but was too scared of piling on the pounds.

 

He said: “The thing is, I’m a fat bloke inside this body and the minute I stop smoking, I’ll get even bigger.

 

“It looks like I can’t give up until my fame runs out. Then I can be a healthy Robbie Nobody.â€

 

Meanwhile, there was drama at training yesterday when Gordon Ramsay was rushed to hospital after injuring his leg.

 

The fiery Scottish chef will have treatment for the next few days in a bid to get him back into shape.

 

Gordon told TV Biz: “I hit the ball and my right leg twisted. I was in the most incredible pain.

 

“A scan revealed a muscle tear. I will absolutely not give up and am determined to lead the team out at Old Trafford.

 

“If I wasn’t to play in this massive game against England I’d never forgive myself.â€

 

Soccer Aid kicks off tonight on ITV1 at 9pm with behind the scenes gossip and the match is on Saturday.

 

YESTERDAY the players were challenged to a penalty shoot and the losers had to pay a whopping £50,000 to UNICEF of their own pockets. Tune in tonight to see who lost.

 

Soccer aid extra time is on itv 2 at 10.30. straight after the one on itv.

Scotty, :unsure: I got a different time to you: starts at 9pm on itv1 finishes at 10.30pm and then switch over to itv2 at 10.30 till 11pm for the extra bit.
